MEDIA VISION INTRODUCES INDUSTRY'S FIRST MULTIMEDIA UPGRADE KITS TO SUPPORT
NEW MPC STANDARD

FREMONT, CALIF.--MAY 24, 1993 -- Media Vision (MVIS:NASDAQ) has today
introduced two new multimedia upgrade kits. Called the Pro 16 Multimedia
System II and the Fusion DoubleCD 16, both new systems are the industry's
first to be compatible with the Multimedia PC (MPC) Marketing Council's
recently introduced MPC Level 2 specification and contain the NEC
Multispin CD-ROM drives which offers faster computing speeds for many
multimedia applications.

The MPC Level 2 specification expands industry standard minimum
requirements for multimedia systems. Key enhancements are 16-bit (or
CDquality) sound, a double-speed CD-ROM drive, and multisession PhotoCD
capability.

The Pro 16 Multimedia System II and the Fusion DoubleCD 16 expand Media
Vision's line of upgrade kits, which add multimedia capabilities to and
existing personal-computer system. Media Vision now offers the broadest
line of multimedia upgrade kits in the industry, as well as an array of
multimedia hardware and software for both PC-compatible and Macintosh
systems.

"The market for multimedia hardware is becoming more sophisticated and is,
therefore, becoming segmented," said Paul Jain, Media Vision's president
and CEO. "We will continue to find opportunities to capture new and
returning multimedia computer users by developing products that meet their
increasingly diverse needs."

Double-Speed CD-ROM Drives Enhance Multimedia Performance

Both the Pro 16 Multimedia System II and the Fusion DoubleCD 16 combine
Media Vision's Pro AudioSpectrum 16 sound card with a double-speed CD-ROM
drive. The Pro AudioSpectrum 16 is the leading 16-bit add-in sound card
for PC-compatible computers. It has received a variety of industry awards
and outsells all other 16-bit sound cards. The double speed CD-ROM drive
is a key aspect of the MPC Level 2 specification and will improve the
response time of interactive multimedia applications such as CD-ROM based
encyclopedias.

"Media Vision is an active supporter of the evolving work of the Multimedia
PC Marketing Council," said Jain. "The new specification represents the
Council's recognition of the market's enhanced expectation for multimedia
performance based on newer technologies such as the double-speed CD-ROM
drive and 486-based PCs. Media Vision will continue to offer timely
products based on industry standards."

The new Pro 16 Multimedia System II improves upon an existing product of
the same name by offering a high data-transfer-rate CD-ROM drive with a
very fast access time (300 kilobytes per second data rate, 250
milliseconds access time) and expanded application software bundled in the
package. This high performance upgrade kit includes the Pro AudioSpectrum
16 sound card, an NEC model 841D-1 CD-ROM drive, CD-ROM software and full
support of the MPC Level 2 specification. Eight software applications are
included: Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia, Interplay's Battle Chess,
two Microprose games called Mantis and Civilization, Macromedia's Action!
presentation package, the complete Mayo Clinic Health Book, Sirrus
Publishing's PC Karaoke, and Broderbund's Carmen Sandiego Deluxe Edition.
In addition, the Pro 16 Multimedia System II has specialized software that
also comes with Media Vision's most advanced add in sound card, the Pro
AudioStudio 16, including MIDI sequencing software, a professional
waveform editor, mixer, and Dragon Systems' voice recognition software. In
addition the system includes software that allows the user to play audio
CDs on the CD-ROM drive.

The Fusion DoubleCD 16 upgrade kit offers a double speed CDROM drive (300
kilobytes per second data rate, 350 milliseconds access time) and four
bundled software applications. This attractively priced kit combines an
award-winning 16-bit stereo sound card, an NEC model 55J CD-ROM drive,
CD-ROM software, and full support for the MPC Level 2 specification. The
four bundled software applications are Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia
for Windows, Interplay's Battle Chess, Broderbund's Arthur's Teacher
Trouble, and Virgin's acclaimed The Seventh Guest -- one of the first game
packages to take advantage of double-speed CD-ROM technology.

The Pro 16 Multimedia System II and the Fusion DoubleCD 16 are available
immediately through both traditional computer retail and mass
merchandising channels. The suggested retail prices are $1195 and $899,
respectively.
