MEDIA VISION'S NEW VIDEO BOARD MAKES DESKTOP VIDEO CREATION A REALITY

The Pro MovieStudio Offers Low Cost, Real Time Video Compression that is
More Practical and Easier to Use

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIF. -- JUNE 23, 1993 --- Media Vision (MVIS:NASDAQ) has
today announced a new add-in board which makes including video in
multimedia applications on a PC-compatible computer faster, easier, and
more practical. This is the second in Media Vision's line of video
boards.

The Pro MovieStudio is the first add-in video board to offer real time
compression of video images for under $450. Real time compression is
important because, without it a system needs significant extra capacity to
store uncompressed capture data prior to the compression step. With this
new technology, data is captured and compressed, "on the fly," so that
only compressed video data is stored. This process is both more memory
efficient and faster than before.

"Multimedia video can enhance a variety of entertainment and business
applications," said Paul Jain, Media Vision's president and CEO. "With the
Pro MovieStudio, we are taking one more step toward to bring the power of
multimedia to the broad base of mainstream personal computer users."

The Uses of Motion Video

Some examples of the ways in which Media Vision expects this product to be
used include: development of business presentations that include video
which is captured off of a television, videotape, laser disc, camcorder,
or some other source; in education, video can be added to the software
program to enhance the learning experience; in training, a video of the
actual function can be included in training communications; electronic
mail can be created which includes the use of a video as an integral part
of the message; in databases, video adds substantially to the information
that can be stored and used.

Media Vision Video Chips Make Real Time Compression Possible

The Pro MovieStudio is easy to use. By simply installing the card into a
PC-compatible computer (386/486), video can be digitized and saved onto
the computer's hard disk to be incorporated into any form of
communication. The source of the video can be any standard video device,
such as regular commercial laser disk player, VCR, or camcorder.

A unique feature of the Pro MovieStudio is that its hardware compression
scheme is fully compatible with MS Video 1, the standard CODEC
(compressor/decompressor - co-developed by Media Vision and Microsoft)
included with Microsoft Video for Windows digital video software. The
captured AVI file can be played back on almost any PC platform running
Windows with the Media Player. Included is also an MS-DOS) player and
recorder as well as an AVI to Quicktime converter. This means the video
captured on a PC can be played back on a MS-DOS or Macintosh personal
computer.

"Cross-platform video playback is a key benefit of the Pro MovieStudio,"
said Satish K. Gupta, Media Vision's vice president of strategic marketing
and development. "Now, when I'm using desktop video to enhance my
electronic communication, I'm no longer restricted to those people who use
a PC-compatible computer . "

The Pro MovieStudio is the first add-in video card to use Media Vision's
two chip MotiVE video chip set. This chip set makes low cost real time
video compression possible. Without this chip set, a one-minute video file
would require a total of 70 MB of storage and 8 minutes to complete the
compression process. This new board, using Media Vision's chips, enables
the same file to use on 4.5 MB is captured and compressed in real-time.

The Pro MovieStudio comes with support for 32,768 colors and can capture
videos up to resolutions of 320 x 240. It offers a wide array of support
for worldwide broadcast standards - NTSC (National Television Standards
Committee), PAL, SECAM - and allows connection to many consumer-level
video sources by offering both composite (RCA-type) and S-video
connectors.

The Pro MovieStudio is bundled with several software packages, including
Microsoft Video for Windows, Authorware Star SE 2.0 from Macromedia, an
AVI-to-Quicktime converter, and a DOS player and recorder. It is available
immediately from traditional computer retail outlets for $449.
