ACCULOGIC SHIPS NEW DISK CONTROLLER FOR PCI LOCAL BUS AND ENHANCED
IDE-DRIVE PERSONAL COMPUTERS

32-Bit sIDE-2/PCI Ends Data Bottleneck Common to 16-Bit ISA Controllers

NEW YORK CITY, June 27, 1994 -- Acculogic, Inc., a leading supplier of disk
controllers for personal computers, today began shipping its latest
high-performance board that supports PCI local bus PCs and the new
Enhanced IDE disk drive interface.

The sIDE-2/PCI controller, expected to sell for less than $50 in
Acculogic's network of computer reseller outlets, including CompUSA, Micro
Center and others, is one of the first controllers to support the PCI bus.
It transfers data up to 10 megabytes per second with the new Enhanced IDE
drives from Western Digital Corp.

According to Mike Zachan, president, the 32-bit disk controller eliminates
performance "bottlenecks" common to 16-bit ISA cards, and is up to five
times faster than ISA bus controllers
with standard drives.

"The sIDE-2/PCI provides users with maximum levels of performance on PCI
bus compatible systems," he said. "It supports up to two IDE-compatible
hard disk drives from major manufacturers. It is particularly suited to PC
users in the network, CAD/CAM and graphics

Driver installation software and cables are included for a complete
"turnkey" package, he added.

In addition to the sIDE-2/PCI, Acculogic's sIDE controller products include
the sIDE-4/VL for VL-Bus-compatible systems, the sIDE-1/16 for 8-bit PC
XTs, and three boards for 16-bit ISA bus-compatible PCs -- the sIDE-3 hard
and floppy disk controller, sIDE-3/PLUS high-capacity controller and
sIDE-4/PLUS disk controller with I/O ports.

The company also offers a full range of disk controllers for the Small
Computer Systems Interface (SCSI) market which support high performance
PCs. Those products include PCIpport for the PCI bus, VESApport for the VL
bus, EISApport for the EISA bus and ISApport for the ISA bus systems.

Acculogic, which has been providing disk controllers and memory products
for the PC upgrade market for more than six years, is a part of the ACC
Technology Group with a $1.2 billion multinational corporation. Company
headquarters are at 13715 Alton Parkway, Irvine, Calif. 92718 (800)
234-7811. (Acculogic will be moving July 1, 1994 to 7 Whatney, Irvine.)
