ACECAD Releases The New ACECAT II

Double The Performance At The Same Amazing $ 129.00 Value

ACECAT II Graphics Tablet With WinTab Multi Pointer Driver

Monterey, California - ACECAD Inc., manufacturer of the award winning
ACECAT Graphics Tablet announces the release of the second generation,
world's smallest high resolution digitizer tablet. The all new ACECAT II
includes a variety of "user requested" enhancements yet will retain the
original $ 129.00 pricing of it's predecessor offering tremendous value to
the computing public. These enhancements include up to 2000 (LPI) line per
inch resolution, template overlay for easy mapping in of existing
drawings, replaceable pen tips and much, much more. And, now for the first
time, the CAT is ready and willing to peacefully co-exist with another
pointing device on the precious and well defended real estate next to your
computer keyboard. Using ACECAD's WinTab Multi-Pointer Driver the advanced
"absolute" pointing capabilities of the tablet can be used along side a
familiar, but outdated, "relative" device such as a mouse or trackball.
The WinTab standard endorsed by Microsoft, Autodesk and others will
provide the key to unlock advanced tablet pointing capabilities to the
general computing public by providing an easy transition path from past
relative cursor control to the present & future of absolute positioning.
In keeping with the ACECAD philosophy of "Making Digitizers That Make
Sense", we have substantially improved the features and performance of the
tablet without increasing the price.

Starting at $129.00 SRP for the PC Model with 2 button programmable stylus,
$149.00 SRP for the equivalent Apple Macintosh Model and $179.00 SRP for
the CADPro Model with 4-button cursor puck, AutoCAD Templates and MNU
Files, the ACECAT II features all new electromagnetic inductive technology
with up to 2000 LPI resolution and advanced shielding for maximum cursor
stability even in high RF environments such as classrooms or offices where
multiple electronic devices are used nearby.

With the ACECAT IL users can create, edit and manipulate freehand drawings
or do advanced digitized tracings with improved accuracy using the
programmable 2-button stylus pen.

Ergonomic Design

The new ACECAT II utilizes less space than a mouse pad and weighs an ultra
light 1.05 Lbs (0.48 kg), allowing it to be effortlessly held in the palm
of the hand or easily placed on a crowded desktop. ACECAT II's compact
dimensions and ergonomic design allow it to be just as easily operated
while standing, sitting, reclining, or in a stationary position next to a
workstation.

Also integrated into the tablet base is a holder which allows for the use
of an optional wrist strap for maximum control while sitting or standing
with the tablet off the desktop or in the field. This provision is perfect
for use as a presentation control tool (with the PC attached to an Opaque
projector) when cursor control, drawing and writing is used al la John
Madden! This feature has also proven useful for physically challenged
individuals.

Advanced Technology

Designed following extensive market feedback from the highly successful
ACECAT tablet, the 2nd Generation ACECAT II provides greatly improved
precision, supporting resolutions of up to 2,000 lines per inch (LPI). All
new RF shielding improvements reduce jitter, which vastly improves the
accuracy of the tablet. Another new improvement is a 5" X 5" recessed
template overlay cover like those used on our larger tablets, which allows
company provided and user created templates to be inserted underneath for
easy tracing or "mapping in" of existing drawings or images.

The ACECAT II includes an improved programmable 2-button stylus pen with
replaceable tips which provide the user with maximum versatility and
precision to best utilize the latest CAD and Graphics applications. All
new MM1201 emulation ensures full compatibility with the widest range of
applications in the marketplace today. The ACECAT II uses "absolute"
positioning, providing the user with maximum speed to perform any cursor
manipulation task. In "absolute" positioning, where you point on the
tablet is precisely where you are on the screen. The reality that the
mouse's "relative" positioning has limited value when it comes to
precision drawing and tracing has convinced professional user's of
drawing, illustration, image editing, CAD and paint programs to convert to
the more intuitive feel and precision of digitizing tablets. Now even the
first time user can afford the power of this proven technology.

The PC Model comes with five advanced drivers for use under a wide range of
applications. The drivers include: An AADI real mode and protected mode
driver suite for Autodesk applications; an ACE12 driver with a utility
file for setting tablet parameters for certain applications which support
only 12" x 12" parameters; ATABLET.COM mouse driver which provides
absolute mouse emulation for applications in DOS requiring Microsoft Mouse
emulation; simply swap from DOS to Windows and back again with ease; an
ATEST.EXE driver which provides the user with the ability to simply plug
the tablet into a serial port and quickly verify communications between
the tablet and computer, and an all new WinTab driver which contains a
custom tablet control panel utility for use under Windows 3.X. This driver
suite lets the user utilize the included WinTab Tablet Control Panel
program to customize the size of the tracking area on the tablet surface
corresponding to the whole Windows screen so pointing and selecting and
menu-picking become as easy as a slight wrist rotation (Active areas from
5" X 5" down to the smallest possible size are supported using this unique
tablet control panel utility). The WinTab Tablet Control Panel also lets
you control the sensitivity of the tablet, the tablets aspect ratio and
even customize button configurations such as left click, left double
click, left drag, right click, etc. on the included stylus pen or optional
cursor puck. You can even install two pointing devices in Windows using
this versatile new driver. Also included is an autoinstall program making
driver installation a breeze.

Easy To Install & Use

The ACECAT II's unique features allow it to perform with ease, precision,
and speed many of the tasks traditionally reserved for the larger, more
expensive digitizing tablets. Todd Waldman, President of ACECAD, said
"although the ACECAT II is simple enough for entry level users to set-up,
it's powerful features provide it with the capabilities to easily perform
highly advanced professional and technical digitizing applications
particularly in the new Windows & CAD environments".
