Application Partners, Inc Announces WIT The API Library Version 3.0

NEW YORK, June 28, 1994 -- Application Partners Inc. today announced WIT
The API Library Version 3.0, API's Lotus Notes development toolkit
software for creating API-based Notes applications to automate business
processes or administrative functions for the workgroup or the extended
enterprise. WIT The API Library Version 2.0 was introduced at Lotusphere
'93 and provided basic data manipulation within the Notes environment. The
new version of WIT utilizes Notes application development at a new level.
"WIT provides Notes developers with another way to develop World-Class
Notes applications," said Jeffrey Papows, Vice-President of Notes Products
Division. "Application Partners adds to the growing list of quality third
party products building an industry around Lotus Notes."

Emerging Standard for Notes API Development

WIT offers a Notes-centric development environment. Documents and data can
be created, deleted, modified, copied and moved. Event triggers and timing
schedules can be defined. Rich Text Fields can be edited, moved, modified
or concatenated. DocLinks can be programmatically automated. Automation of
Attach/Detach functions now enables Notes to be a robust environment for
report distribution. Documents can now be mailed quickly and easily.

Easy to Use for the Developer

WIT leverages an organizations resources to extend API-based application
development to the non-programmer. "Some of our applications are being
developed by non-programmers who do not have the skill to write C
programs, and the canned [action] interfaces in WIT have helped them, "
said Robert Muise, project leader for Notes implementation at Eastman
Kodak Company, Rochester, N.Y. Using the Lotus Notes interface, WIT's
easy-to-use forms let Notes experts in an organization build mission
critical applications. Developers execute actions by entering parameters
into WIT Control forms using Notes syntax. "The control database lets
programmers set up complicated sequences of action, so its interface is
complex. But it's also fairly self-explanatory, so programmers can use it
for straightforward tasks rather easily," said John Helliwell, consultant
with Richard A. Eisner and Co. and the author of Help! Lotus Notes 3.0.

Pricing & Availability

WIT The API Library Version 2.0 is available now. The Developer's Edition
is $3,995.00 and the Run-Time Edition is $1,000.00. Purchases made by July
1 5, 1994 will be upgraded to WIT v3.0 free of charge. WIT The API Library
Version 3.0 is scheduled to ship August 15, 1994. All WIT purchases
