Custom On-line Help in Paradox No Longer Requires Programming

Creating Help systems for Paradox for Windows applications is often
considered by developers as an unpleasant, time consuming and complicated
task. However, RoboHELP 2.6 now automates all aspects of creating Windows
Help systems for Paradox applications and lets users concentrate on the
content of their applications. RoboHELP's visual development environment
provides even non expert Help writers easy access to all the advanced
features of the Windows Help Engine.

New York, PC Expo, June 28, 1994 - Version 2.6 of RoboHELP, the
award-winning Help Authoring Tool for Windows and Windows NT automates all
the aspects of creating Help systems for Paradox for Windows applications.
Creating a Windows Help system traditionally required the efforts of both
a technical writer and a programmer to handle the complexities of the RTF
file format required by the Help compiler. RoboHELP 2.6 enables developers
who create Paradox applications to easily design, test and create custom
on-line, context-sensitive Windows Help systems for their applications.

"RoboHELP makes it easy to build a Windows Help system," said Kathy
Johnson, Borland director of Paradox product marketing and product
management. "With this product, every Paradox for Windows custom
application can include an on-line Help system. RoboHELP even includes a
Paradox object that lets you create context sensitive Help in Paradox
applications without programming."

RoboHELP 2.6 guides the Paradox developer through the whole process of
creating a Help system. Included special custom controls eliminate the
need to program context sensitive Help into Paradox for Windows
applications.

RoboHELP 2.6 is the first Help Authoring Tool for Windows to support both
Word 6.0 and Word 2.0 for Windows. RoboHELP's visual tool palette provides
an easy way to quickly create standard Help features such as jumps,
topics, and popup windows. The twelve-icon palette reduces all complex
steps involved in building a Help system to a series of mouse dicks that
let the Help system author concentrate on the contents of the Help system.
This visual interface is so easy to use that users do not need to be Help
system experts or to have any special technical knowledge in order to
create professional Windows Help systems.

RoboHELP 2.6 supports all the new features of the Windows Help Engine, such
as macros, secondary windows, and multiple hotspot graphics. RoboHELP
integrates and enhances the Shed Editor from Microsoft, thereby
simplifying the creation of multiple hotspot graphics to a three-step
process such as placing a bitmap in a Help window, marking sections of it,
and linking each section to a different topic interactively without
needing to remember symbolic context IDs.

Error Wizard detects and explains any potential errors before compilation.
Simulation Mode allows the user to instantly test changes without
compiling. Existing Help source projects, graphics, text and RTF files can
be imported. RoboHELP also includes the most recent Microsoft Windows Help
compilers. RoboHELP offers twoway conversion: it automatically converts
existing documentation into a Help system or vice-versa. This feature
gives users the ability to import existing Word files and have headings
converted to topics and index entries converted to search keywords.
Developers using RoboHELP report an average of ten-fold productivity gain.
For instance, a Help system normally requiring 100 hours could be
completed in 10 hours or less with RoboHELP.
