CHEYENNE SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES WINDOWS NT DATA MANAGEMENT SUPPORT FOR
ARCSERVE

New Agent Option Offers Full Support For Windows NT File Systems and
Registry

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY (June 28, 1994) -- Cheyenne Software, Inc. (AMEX:CYE), a
world leader in storage management software, today announced a Windows NT
agent option for Cheyenne ARCserve. Coupled with ARCserve's additional
Agent Options, which backup Macintosh and a variety of UNIX platforms, as
well as ARCserve 's inherent support for DOS, OS/2 and Windows, positions
ARCserve as the first data management solution capable of backup and
restoration of all major operating systems available in the PC
marketplace.

"We recognize Windows NT as a strategic platform for the enterprise.
ARCserve's flexible architecture allows us to easily and rapidly develop
agents for emerging networking platforms, such as Windows NT, as they
develop," said Bob Daly, Cheyenne Software's vice president of
engineering. "It is our continuing mission to provide network essential
services across the enterprise. These services must enable today's
endusers to be as productive as possible while protecting the
corporation's most valuable asset -- its data."

The Windows NT agent's key benefits include backup and restore of the
Windows NT FAT, HPFS and NTFS file systems as well as the Registry and
security lists that cover access control. The Windows NT agent is an
important component of Cheyenne's architecture for eligible Managed
Storage (ARMS), a strategy for providing a broad range of essential
storage management services across diverse platforms throughout the
enterprise. ARMS ensures consistent standards for data interchange, system
reliability, user interfaces and other critical storage criteria. The
Windows NT agent demonstrates our commitment to ARMS and is a vital
component of that architecture, completing the client/server tier of
NetWare based enterprise-wide backup capabilities promised in the ARMS
strategy.

"Cheyenne is the logical choice to provide high performance backup
capabilities for the growing number of Windows NT servers and workstations
on the network, given their proven leadership role in developing superior
data management software solutions, " said Kevin Phaup, Microsoft
Corporation's lead program manager of corporate systems. "We are pleased
with Cheyenne's commitment to providing Microsoft NT and Chicago users the
cutting-edge data management services they depend upon."

According to Windows NT Beta user Richard Randazzo of the Bank of New York,
"The Windows NT agent allows us to backup over 256 megabytes of data every
night in only fifteen minutes. I haven't had a problem or modification
that wasn't resolved quickly and effectively." Beta user Bryon Jones of
the University of Miami added that "....the Windows NT Agent is one of the
easiest programs I've ever installed. The networking support in Windows
works very smoothly along with the agent. The Windows NT agent worked
absolutely right for me the very first time."

The Windows NT agent is valued at a U.S. suggested retail price of $495,
but will be made available to ARCserve for NetWare Windows Edition v5.x
users free of charge for a limited time. Contact Cheyenne at 800-243-9462
for additional information. Cheyenne is currently in development of a
server-based Windows NT data management software solution, similar to
ARCserve for NetWare, and anticipates announcement of the new product by
the end of 1994.
