CHEYENNE SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES INOCULAN 3.0 - ADVANCED DATA SECURITY FOR THE
ENTERPRISE WITH NLM-BASED ANTI-VIRUS PROTECTION

InocuLAN 3.0 Client/Server Architecture Simplifies Administration, Enhances
Security, and Minimizes Network Impact

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NEW YORK (June 28, 1994) -- Cheyenne Software, Inc.
(AMEX:CYE), a world leader in the development of storage management
software, today announced Cheyenne InocuLAN v3.0 -an integrated
client/server anti-virus software solution designed to protect the data on
Novell networks. The latest advancement in Cheyenne's essential enterprise
system software, InocuLAN's architecture protects NetWare 3.1x and 4.x
file servers and networked or standalone DOS, Windows and Macintosh
workstations. Significant enhancements in the new version of InocuLAN
include an easy-to-use Windows front-end employing multiple document
interface (MDI), Domain implementation and improved virus scanning
technology. In addition the new version incorporates expanded reporting
capacity and automatic downloading of the latest virus signatures via
Cheyenne's bulletin board system (BBS), as well as a new virus
encyclopedia.

INOCULAN 3.0 ENHANCEMENTS

DOS & Windows Manager Support

Both DOS and Windows managers are included, enabling supervisors to perform
administrative tasks from their DOS or Windows workstation, as opposed to
the file server's console.

Windows Interface

The Microsoft Windows Graphical User Interface, provides both users and
administrators point and click access to InocuLAN's robust functionality
and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously via the MDI
support.

Domain Support

InocuLAN's Domain implementation allows administrators to invoke
configuration changes made to a designated master server to be
automatically applied to its preselected member servers. Additionally,
information stored in the member server's audit log is automatically
uploaded to the master server for expanded reporting capacity. This
minimizes the time needed to configure, monitor, and report on multiple
files servers within a distributed NetWare environment, and increases
centralized management capability.

Improved Scanning Engine

Up to a 25% increase in scanning speed have been recorded, as well as an
increase in the virus detection rate of over 25%. Combined, they enable
InocuLAN to detect additional potential viruses in a shorter period of
time, thereby reducing overall resource utilization.

NCSA Recertification

The new rules-based scanning engine, utilized in both clients and servers,
identifies over 3,000 viruses, including the notorious CVEX, CHILL, JUNKIE
and WXYC. InocuLAN has been recertified by the National Computer Security
Association as identifying over 90% of all known worldwide viruses,
including boot, file, stealth, multipartite and polymorphic variants.

Flexible Reporting

All client and file server virus incidents, configuration changes, and
operational results are recorded in the file server's audit log, providing
for customized and centralized multi-server reporting. This information
can now be queried against criteria such as text, file server, date and
time. Additionally, information stored in a member server's audit log is
automatically uploaded to the master server for domain reporting
capabilities.

BBS Auto-Download

To maintain up-to-date protection, InocuLAN's "GET-BBS" feature is an NLM
which allows administrators to designate file servers to automatically
download the latest virus signature files from Cheyenne's BBS. New files
are instantly distributed to other InocuLAN servers and clients during
login.

Cheyenne's V-Base

This hypertext-based anti-virus encyclopedia is a valuable tool to users
and administrators in helping further their computer virus knowledge.

"Increasing exposure to computer viruses significantly threatens
mission-critical data as well as user productivity, and is growing more
evident in multi-server and remote user environments" said Scott Gordon,
Cheyenne system management and security product manager. "InocuLAN 3.0 is
a comprehensive, secure solution that efficiently distributes protection
and centralizes administration of all anti-virus functions. This provides
administrators with an integrated client/server protection architecture
which is based on Cheyenne's advanced NLM technologies."

PRODUCT LINE INTEGRATION

InocuLAN used in conjunction with Cheyenne ARCserve, the leading software
for NetWare networks, provides efficient scanning capabilities during the
automated backup and restore process, thus ensuring archived files are
virus free. InocuLAN's notification of virus incidents include network
broadcast, alpha-numeric pager, MHS compatible E-mail, print queue, SNMP
managers and facsimile via Cheyenne Communications FAXserve, a
NetWare-based facsimile software product.

LICENSING, PRICING and UPGRADING

InocuLAN 3.0 is scheduled to begin shipping in July 1994. Cheyenne has
stratified InocuLAN's pricing structure to provide anti-virus protection
and prevention for networks of all sizes. InocuLAN's license is one NLM
per server with user levels corresponding to the customer's version of
NetWare user level. This InocuLAN license supports DOS, Windows and
Macintosh clients either networked or within proximity of that server
within the prescribed NetWare user level, including both home and remote
use. Registered Cheyenne ARCserve users can purchase an InocuLAN for
ARCserve option at 50% off the following suggested U.S. retail pricing:

NLM (works with NetWare 3.1x or 4.x)
NetWare 20/25 user versions $395.00
NetWare 100 user version $595.00
NetWare 250 user version $795.00
NetWare 1000 user version $995.00

Registered InocuLAN 2.5 customers can upgrade to their current user level
for U.S. suggest retail $99, or to a higher user level for U.S. suggested
retail $149. Customers participating in Cheyenne's Technology Guarantee
Program (TGP) will receive a free upgrade, and will automatically have
their TGP participation extended through December 1994.
