CLARY HAS FIRST SHOWING OF ITS NEW ONGUARD LI-450 & LI-1250 UPSES

New York, New York, June 28, 1994 -- Clary Corporation, manufacturer of
award-winning power protection equipment, will have first showing of its
recently introduced line-interactive UPSes, the OnGuard LI-450 and OnGuard
LI-1250, here at PC Expo New York (Booth #2165). These two intelligent
UPSes underscore Clary's growing commitment to the line-interactive market
and are targeted at local area networks and midrange systems.

The OnGuard LI-450 and LI-1250 protect sensitive equipment from damaging
power instabilities inherent to utility power and function as an
intelligent power protection devices, surge suppressors and power backup
systems. The OnGuard LI-450 is targeted at electronic devices, personal
computers, small network servers and workstations, while the OnGuard
LI-1250 is targeted at larger electronic devices, network servers and
midrange systems.

"The LI-450 and LI-1250 broaden the power protection range supported by our
new OnGuard line-interactive series of UPSes," said Stewart Nowak, sales
manager for Clary Corporation. "Users looking for a line-interactive UPS
can now more closely match their power requirements with their needs, and
still get Clary's proven quality and reliability."

"Clary's addition of 450 and 1250 VA models to its previously announced 600
and 1000 VA OnGuard line-interactive UPS product line, gives the company's
customers a broad choice in this important UPS segment where shipments in
1994 will reach $636 million," noted Maurice Klapfish, vice president of
Venture Development Corporation (VDC), a Natick, Massachusetts consulting
firm that has followed the UPS business for nearly 10 years.

All products in the OnGuard LI series include a built-in microprocessor and
an RS232 interface that enable real-time communications across the network
between the UPS, workstations, servers or network management stations. The
OnGuard LI microprocessor is capable of driving advanced network
monitoring, including the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and
Novell's NetWare Management System (NMS). The OnGuard LI series also
features a DOS or Windows menu-driven diagnostic software application that
provides real-time utility line analysis, inspects the condition of the
battery, and provides power event and data logs.

Optional DataSave Plus software ensures secure, automatic shutdowns and
restarts. It also provides data logging, event history, pre-programmed
shutdowns and startups for up to a year, as well as other advancedures.
The network version of DataSave Plus provides protection for additional
workstations at up to a 4: 1 rate. This reduces the overall number of
UPSes users have to purchase, maintain and manage to protect their
network. The network version of the software allows a single workstation
to monitor and control all other workstations attached to the UPS through
a single RS-232 connection.

The OnGuard LI series of UPSes continually monitors input power to provide
brownout protection. When excessively low voltage fluctuations occur, the
intelligent Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) immediately adjusts the
power, without draining the battery, to provide the attached equipment
with clean sinewave source power. In the event of a blackout, excessive
overload or short circuit condition, the OnGuard LI UPS automatically
invokes a user-programmable, orderly shut down of the system or network in
order to preserve the system's data.

The OnGuard LI series front panel includes light emitting diodes that
display status information that reports on load level, utility present,
on-line, overload, low battery, summary alarm, on-battery and replace
battery status.

The OnGuard LI-450 and the OnGuard LI-1250 are available now and are priced
at $477 and $999 respectively. The new units are UL (TUV for 220 VAC
version) listed and FCC Class A, and IEEE 587/ANSI C62.41 compliant.

Clary Corporation is a technology leader and manufacturer of line
interactive UPSes, regenerative on-line UPSes, and Universal Precision
Regulators (UPR's) that provide clean power and power backup for

security and alarm systems, as well as other mission-critical
applications.
