CNF EXPANDS CARDPORT PCMCIA DRIVE FAMILY! - NOW INCLUDES CARDPORT FAX AND
CARDPORT IDE, LOW COST PCMCIA FAX/MODEM AND HARD DRIVE SOCKET/ADAPTER

PC EXPO SHOW, New York, New York, June, 1994 -- CNF, Inc., the world's
leader in accessories for portable computers, announced the CARDpoff fax &
CARDport ide, the most recent addition to CNF's CARDport family of PCMCIA
drives.

The CARDport family of PCMCIA drives is the world's first family of PCMCIA
drives for both portable and desktop computers which include support for
Type I, II, and III cards including hard disk drives.

CARDport fax is designed to be a low cost interface between the ISA bus and
the PCMCIA FAX/modem cards. CARDport fax plugs into an ISA slot in the PC
and is capable of driving the PCMCIA FAX/modem directly using standard
software without the need to install any additional driver software. Sound
support is provided so the user may monitor the progress of any call. CNF
is the first to bring such a product to market.

The CARDport ide is a low cost, internal module which connects to IDE l/O
controller cards. CARDport ide supports PCMCIA ATA Hard Drives Type III.
It offers a single slot in the front of the computer and mounts into the
standard 3.5" floppy disk drive bay.

CARDport ide offers three modes of operation: 1. Bootable Drive, 2.
Non-bootable Master Drive, and 3. Slave Drive.

Proprietary software is bundled with the CARDport ide which includes a
device driver and format utility. The software supports both Master and
Slave drives at both Primary and Secondary addresses.

LED status lights on the front panel of the drive indicates access and
mounting status of the hard drives.

"CARDport fax continues to provide more options for PCMCIA users. CNF has a
continuing commitment to PCMCIA and to providing all users with the
ability to use PCMCIA cards.," stated Paul Charles, Managing Director.

The CARDport family of drives now includes four different models; 1.
CARDpoff fax, 2. CARDport eX, 3. CARDport isa and 4. CARDport ide.

The pocket sized CARDport eX connects to the computer via the
parallel/printer port and is a self-contained, battery powered portable
solution. The CARDport isa is an internal module which plugs directly into
the ISA (AT) expansion bus of the computer and provides two PCMCIA card
sockets - one in the back plane, and one at the front in a spare drive
bay.

The CARDport eX is geared mainly for the portable user who wants to add or
increase PCMCIA capability to their system. It simply plugs into the
parallel/printer port of any computer using a standard cable. The CARDport
eX then looks and feels just like a normal DOS disk drive allowing access
just like DOS floppy disks. The CARDport eX will read from and write to
all memory card types (SRAM, Flash, EEPROM, PROM, OTP, etc.) and all known
data formats (Card Information Structure, HP-95, Sharp PC-3000, etc.).
CARDport eX also supports the new ATA hard disk drives as well as solid
state drives giving access to data storage capacities of over 200 mbs.

CARDport eX's internal rechargeable battery, coupled with intelligent power
management software, provides several weeks of usage on a single charge.
Printer capability is maintained with a unique pass-through
parallel/printer port feature. The CARDport eX is enclosed in an
ergonomically designed, tough, plastic housing, yet small enough to fit
into the palm of your hand .

CARDport isa is a PC card drive in the form of a half-size PC expansion
card, which plugs into the ISA (AT) bus of your computer and provides two
PCMCIA sockets: one at the front, in a spare disk drive bay, and one at
the rear. Cards in both sockets are simultaneously accessible to all DOS
and Windows applications. CARDport isa supports all types of PCMCIA cards
including hard disk drives, fax/modems, LAN's, etc.

CARDport isa will also read and write data in all known data formats and
provides seamless support for eXecute In Place (XIP) and Exchange Card
Architecture (ExCA). CARDport isa provides universal software
compatibility via Card Services, Socket Services and a host of utilities.
Additional features include high speed read/write performance and 16 bit
zero wait-state operation. Expandability is no problem if more than two
sockets are required, as the unit is easily expandable to four.

The CARDport drives have been jointly developed by CNF, Inc., a California
based developer of portable accessories, and CHASE Advanced Technologies
of the United Kingdom.

The CARDport family of PCMCIA drives is another addition to CNF's Portable
