Top Accounting/HR Vendor to Leverage Microsoft Tools and the Microsoft
Office in its line of business applications development

TAMPA -- April 28, 1994 -- Collier-Jackson, a leading supplier of
line-of-business accounting, human resources and distribution solutions
announces VisionShift, its new generation of client/server applications.
The introduction of the VisionShift line leverages the firm's experience
with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visual Basic Programming System,
Applications, Edition and the Microsoft Office as a solutions development
platform. According to Collier-Jackson General Manager Warren Fletcher,
the company sees significant potential with Information at Your
Fingertips, Microsoft's vision for computing in the future.

"Becoming a member of the Microsoft Solutions Provider Program represents a
huge opportunity for us," explains Fletcher. "The market has changed and
infrastructure investments are not being made piecemeal. Businesses are
investing in desktops and we all know that environment is the Windows
PC."

Fletcher added that Collier-Jackson is positioned now with best-in-class
client/server applications that are optimized for UNIX, Microsoft Windows
NT and SQL Server Technologies. "Our customers and prospects want better
and easier access to their mission-critical information. They want highly
productive environments, reduced training time and an attractive price,"
says Fletcher. "Our VisionShift applications integrated with the Microsoft
Office will make a significant contribution to a company's bottom line."

"We're committed to partnerships with companies like Collier-Jackson who
deliver key line-of-business solutions based on Microsoft products," says
Dwayne Walker, director, worldwide solution provider marketing for
Microsoft. "Collier-Jackson takes advantage of the superior price
performance of Microsoft Windows NT and SQL Server and the
high-productivity tools of the Microsoft Office to meet customer needs."

The Vision and The Shift

"We've seen a major shift in the way customers distribute and use
information," explains Fletcher. "We see in today's market a more
sophisticated user who wants to realize the promise of open systems and
client/server computing. They want free access to information, more
productive environments and the tools they are already familiar with on
their desktops."

"The IT (Information Technology) department wants freedom of choice,"
continues Fletcher, "they need to leverage their existing platforms and
invest in open servers and relational data base technology. Vendor
independence is critical to the vision of open technology. Having a choice
of servers and data bases is essential to this new computer model."

Fletcher adds that Collier-Jackson is ready now. "We're ready to deliver
our VisionShift suite, client/server products that support our strategy of
open access to enterprise data on servers and data bases of the customer's
choice."

100 percent development efforts Microsoft focused

Collier-Jackson moved swiftly to build its client applications with the
Microsoft tool set and integrate with the Microsoft suite of office
products. "We put 100 percent of our product-building resources behind out
Microsoft initiative," says Fletcher. "We have four teams entirely devoted
to leveraging new technologies in the organization."

For the past two years, Collier-Jackson's research and development teams
have concentrated on client/server computing, object-oriented development
tolls, networking, relational data base technologies and graphical user
interfaces. Microsoft tools were key.

"We wanted a process to build applications, not programs," says Fletcher,
"one that puts information power directly into the hands of an
increasingly sophisticated set of end users. The Microsoft Tools gave us
this ability and has forever altered the way we approach solutions
development."

Fletcher also cited the range of capabilities available through the
Microsoft Office as being extremely important extensions to their
applications building environment. "When you couple the Microsoft
development environment with the ability to use UNIX, Windows NT and
relational technology, you have a choice of highly productive and
cost-effective platforms," says Fletcher.

VisionShift Accounting includes General Ledger, Accounts Payable and
Accounts Receivable. It will be delivered second quarter 1994. VisionShift
Human Resources will be available this summer. Prices for the entire suite
of products range from $16,000 to $60,000.

In addition to Collier-Jackson's line-of-business accounting, human
resources and payroll solutions, the firm is launching a new vertical
offering that targets distributors, assemblers and light manufacturers.
The first product from this suite, Order Entry and Inventory Control, is
also being built with Microsoft tools. According to Fletcher, it will be
available late 1994.
