CONNER ANNOUNCES NEW 4 GIGABYTE RAID SYSTEM FOR PC LANs

Conner RAID System Earns Windows NT Certification and Supports Intel's PCI

LAKE MARY, Fla., June 20, 1994 -- Conner Storage Systems, a division of
Conner Peripherals, Inc. (NYSE: CNR), today announced it has expanded its
family of RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) solutions for PC
LANs with the introduction of a new 4 gigabyte (GB) configuration of its
CR6-RAID system (part number CR6-411DE). This new version of the Conner
CR6-RAID system is an external, six-bay RAID system configured with four
1GB Conner disk drives. The product allows a low capacity entry point for
RAID and also allows customers to add up to two more one-inch high Conner
SCSI drives as their capacity requirements increase.

The new configuration of the Conner CR6-RAID system will be available
through distributors and value-added resellers in July with list prices
beginning at $8,375.

"Conner Storage Systems aims to provide customers with the most reliable
and cost-effective solutions available for managing and securing
mission-critical data on PC LANs," said Bernie Wu, vice president, product
development for Conner Storage Systems. "The introduction of a
lower-capacity Conner CR6-RAID system allows organizations to make a
conservative investment in RAID at first and add storage capacity as their
data management needs evolve. "

Conner Storage Systems also announced today that the CR6-RAID system has
been fully tested and certified by Microsoft Compatibility Labs for use
with Windows NT Advanced Server.

The Conner CR6-RAID solution now can take advantage of the RAID
functionality built into Windows NT Advanced Server to provide
uninterrupted availability and security of applications and files residing
in Windows NT environments. The Conner CR6-RAID system also is certified
for use in Novell NetWare 3.x and 4.x networks.

Additionally, the Conner CR6-RAID system now supports Intel's new 64-bit
PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) local bus architecture for
high-speed, plug-and-play connectivity. EISA and Micro Channel-based file
servers are already supported by the Conner RAID systems.

"It is Conner's plan to offer a wide range of RAID solutions to support the
leading operating systems and bus technologies," said Wu. "With
certification from Novell and Microsoft, Conner RAID systems can be used
in the most popular PC LAN client/server environments today. Support for
the emerging PCI standard from Intel will ensure Conner RAID products also
work with state-of-the-art file servers."

Designed to maximize fault tolerance in high-performance PC LANs, the new
configuration for the CR6-RAID system features four hot-swappable Conner
Filepro Performance 1060 disk drives as well as two bays for additional
drives. The Conner RAID system provides for a hot on-line spare drive,
redundant power supplies and dual cooling fans. In addition, LEDs signal
the status of the hard disk drives, power supply and fan functions, and an
audible alarm sounds in the event of a failure of any of these
components.

The Conner CR6-RAID systems include Conner Array Management System
software, a unique management system that features a graphical user
interface (GUI) and operates remotely from a DOS or Windows client
workstation. This software facilitates configuration of the RAID systems
and provides centralized monitoring and reporting of multiple RAID devices
on multiple servers from a single administrator workstation. In addition,
the Conner CR6-RAID system supports RAID levels 0, 1 and 5, event
broadcast management, performance monitoring and disk drive configuration
control.

Conner's CR6-RAID solutions transfer data over a FAST SCSI-2 interface at a
rate of 20 MB/second and has an average seek time of 10 milliseconds. With
an average Mean Time Between Data Loss in excess of 5 million hours, the
Conner RAID product is one of the most reliable systems in its class.

Continuing Conner Storage System's tradition of service and support, the
Conner RAID product family is backed by trained customer support
specialists and 48-hour turnaround on product repairs under warranty. All
Conner RAID systems offer a three-year warranty.

Based in Lake Mary, Fla., Conner Storage Systems offers a complete
selection of storage solutions incorporating disk drives, tape drives and
storage management software for IBM-compatible PC, PS/2, RISC System/6000,
DEC, Sun Microsystems, and Apple Macintosh computers as well as Novell
NetWare networks. The group sells products through a worldwide network of
dealers, distributors and value-added resellers.

Founded in 1986, Conner sells, designs and builds a comprehensive line of
information storage solutions, including disk drives, tape drives, storage
management software and storage systems, for a wide range of computer
applications. Conner had 1993 sales of $2.2 billion.
