APEX DATA ENTERS STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH CELERITAS TO LICENSE TX-CEL
CELLULAR MODEM TECHNOLOGY

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. -- June 27, 1994 -- Celeritas Technologies, Ltd., a
technology licensing and software development company announced its
strategic alliance with Apex Data, Inc., a major manufacturer of PCMCIA
data/fax modems, to provide Throughput X-Cellerator (TX-CEL) in Apex's
Cellular Direct modem. TX-CEL is a cellular modem firmware technology that
improves data/fax transmission performance over cellular systems.

"We will continue to expand the distribution of TX-CEL by licensing the
technology to key PCMCIA data/fax modem manufacturers in an effort to
address the productivity needs of the mobile professional," said Glenn R.
Ray, president of Celeritas Technologies, Ltd.

TX-CEL is a significant technological advancement that improves cellular
data and fax throughput, regardless of error correction protocol used. It
enhances existing cellular error correction methods by eliminating
numerous link layer transmission errors which significantly improves data
and fax throughput and reliability by reducing the number of
retransmissions.

Today, few cellular modems reliably connect at speeds above 4800 bps and
data throughput is rarely above 4000 bps regardless of connection speed.
After extensive testing, TX-CEL modem connectivity averages between 9600
bps and 14,400 bps depending on channel quality. Throughput rates approach
the maximum DTE rate of 57,600 bps.

Optimal modem performance is achieved when TX-CEL is implemented on mobile
and host sides of the connection. "Host" side TX-CEL enhancement can be
provided either by utilizing a host modem with TX-CEL or by routing the
connection through a cellular carrier's modem pool enhancement with
TX-CEL. However, significant data and fax performance improvement is
available when implemented in just the "cellular side" modem.

"Apex Data is committed to provide today's mobile user with the latest in
communications technology," said John Chess, president of Apex Data.
"Through our alliance with Celeritas, we believe we have taken a big step
forward to provide reliable, high-speed connections over the cellular
network."

Located in Mission Viejo, Calif., Celeritas Technologies, Ltd. was
established to develop and license modem technologies and software that
improve the transmission of data over wireless systems. Celeritas is
actively licensing the product to cellular modem, landline modem, modem
adapter, personal computer, personal digital assistant, and semiconductor
manufacturers.

Founded in 1992, Apex Data, Inc. is a connectivity leader in the PCMCIA
segment of the mobile computing marketplace. The company's wide range of
PCMCIA connectivity solutions increase productivity by allowing mobile
computer users to communicate effectively from remote locations through
the addition of essential computing functions such as data transmission,
network interface and other desktop functionality. The company's products
