DeLorme announces the launch of Map'n'Go - comprehensive multimedia travel
planning and routing software for North America

FREEPORT, Maine; June 20, 1994--DeLorme Mapping announces a new
sophisticated multimedia travel planning program to take the guesswork out
of planning users' trips.

Map'n'Go combines an incredibly comprehensive map database with intelligent
routing, exceptional print capabilities, and a database of more than
25,000 hotels, inns, campgrounds, restaurants, and points of interest
throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Map'n'Go is the only travel planning software that allows users to print
detailed maps of their trips, oriented in the correct direction of travel.
It also lets them select and add hotels and other stopping points to their
printed Travel Plan, allowing them to create a truly customized guide to
follow.

In addition, the program comes with a detailed 128-page North American road
atlas that is included to give users a broader perspective and sense of
context of their travels.

Map'n'Go will be released on August 1, and will be widely available in
retail stores and software catalogs. With its unique combination of
multimedia software and the included road atlas, Map'n'Go is also being
positioned to play a leading role in moving consumer software products
into the retail book store channel.

While the program will not carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price,
it is expected that the average consumer price will be around $49.

DeLorme Mapping is the publisher of the award-winning title Street Atlas
USA and other CD-ROM-based mapping titles for the consumer and business
markets.

Map'n'Go, which operates in Windows, will help both business and pleasure
travelers navigate virtually anywhere on the Continent. In keeping with
DeLorme's tradition of providing the most comprehensive mapping
information available, Map'n'Go includes a network of more than 1 million
miles of roads - almost twice that of any other travel planning program.
The maps also show national and state park boundaries, streams, lakes, and
rivers; topographic detail; land cover, such as swamps, salt pans, mines,
etc.; airports; and other man-made features, such as sports stadiums,
museums, and universities.

The program allows users to determine the starting and ending points of a
journey from among more than 50,000 towns, cities, or airports, and
specify up to 50 intermediate stops along the way. It allows them to set
preferences for the type and speed limits of the roads they wish to travel
on. Then, at their command, Map'n'Go calculates either the shortest or
quickest route to the user's destination, or a route that factors in the
user's preferences.

A detailed screen lays out all the segments of the journey, including the
distance (in miles or kilometers) of each segment, the total distance, and
the estimated driving time.

The user can also scroll along the proposed route on the computer screen,
calling up information about hotels, inns, campgrounds, and restaurants
along the way, which can then be added to the itinerary.

The program features photos and narrated descriptions of thousands of
important historical, cultural, and geographical sites in North America.
Map'n'Go will bring up references to these points of interest - amusement
parks, museums, battlefields, travel information offices, etc. - within
five, 10, 20, or even 50 miles of the proposed route. The program provides
narrated information about these points of interest and, often, a photo as
well. These points of interest can be inspected individually, or Map'n'Go
can put together a slide show of interesting sights all along the user's
proposed route.

Just as with the hotels and restaurants, the user can attach some or all of
the points of interest to his itinerary. And he can continue to add
additional stopping points, extend the trip to a different area, or
specify a return leg that routes him home by a different way.

Once the trip has been completely planned on the computer, Map'n'Go will
print out a detailed Travel Plan of the entire trip, oriented in the
correct direction of travel. The Map'n'Go Travel Plan includes complete
directions, distances for each segment, the total distance and driving
time, as well as any intermediate stops, hotels, and points of interest
along the way that the user has added to the itinerary.

An integral part of the Map'n'Go travel system is the 128-page North
American road atlas that is included with the program. The user's Travel
Plan references page numbers and grids in the road atlas, so that he can
turn to the atlas on the road for a broader picture of the region through
which he is traveling.

Another useful feature of Map'n'Go is the capability to determine the zip
codes or area code and telephone exchanges of any town in the program's
database. You can click on any town and call up a list of local zip codes
or the area code and local phone exchanges.

System requirements for Map'n'Go include an IBM-compatible 386 or higher
computer, CD-ROM drive, VGA graphics, mouse, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or
higher, DOS 4.01 or higher, 4 MB RAM, 3 MB hard-drive space.
