E.I.T. AMERICA'S NEW LASERFEEDERS AND LASERTOWERS SOLVE NETWORK PRINTING
DILEMMAS

With Multi-Bin Feeders or Towers, Users Can Access to Up to Seven Different
Paper Types with a Few Keystrokes

GLEN HEAD, New York June 28, 1991 Electronic Information Technology (E.I.T
) America, the exclusive North American distributor of E.I.T. multi-bin
sheet feeders and towers, announces its new models compatible with the HP
LaserJet 4 and 4Si laser printers. Already adaptible to most popular laser
printer brands, including earlier HP models, the LaserFeeders and
LaserTowers boost available paper supplies from 200 sheets up to 1,100 and
3500 respectively. Even more importantly, the sheetfeeders allow users to
choose from 2-7 different paper types and envelopes without leaving their
desks.

Both LaserFeeders and LaserTowers employ Paper Flow Control Language (PFC)
to allow computer users--irrespective of their software programs--to
key-in instructions for printing jobs. As a result, users operating in
DOS, Windows, OS2, Unix or other software systems can send up to seven
different paper types to print without walking over to the printer. To
create complete letters, for example, users can type in commands so that
the first pages of text appear on letterhead and the rest on second
sheets. With a few extra keystrokes, users can feed envelopes to the
printer for automatic addressing. Finally, they can key-in commands that
send specially-colored sheets to print for the purpose of making office
copies. And, as part of a separate job, computer users can send
pre-printed forms or legal (spreadsheet) size paper to the printer.

Offices sharing printers on networks will particularly benefit from E.I.T.
America's multi-bin system. For a business that has several employees
sharing a single laser printer, a sheetfeeder can eliminate confusion and
wasted time. Formerly, it might be commonplace for an employee to cry out
to co-workers "Don't print! I've put letterhead in the tray and have just
sent my job to the printer!" With a Laser Feeder or LaserTower in place,
employees can access the trays they need, without stopping the flow of
their work, and without consulting other employees on the same network.

The net result of such cutbacks in printing time is increased worker
productivity. Since employees spend less time replacing and replenishing
paper trays, they can devote more time to other tasks. Independent tests
by The National Computing Center in the U.K. show that employees using
multi-bin sheetfeeders with their laser printers will save 96% of the time
that their counterparts take to complete the same job without
sheetfeeders. In the same study, this increase in employee efficiency
translated into a 30% rise in overall productivity.

The LaserFeeder and LaserTower are similar in that both extend printer
capabilities. However, the two are designed differently to accommodate the
varied needs of law firms, banks, universities, insurance companies and
other paper-intensive businesses currently implementing E.I.T.'s system.
The LaserFeeder is distinguished by its six vertically-layered bins, each
bin with a paper-holding capacity of 200-220 sheets. The LaserFeeder must
be positioned next to a laser printer on a desktop.

The LaserTower, on the other hand, is configured as a stack of up-to-seven
horizontal drawers, each holding a full ream of 500 sheets. If a customer
only needs 2-4 drawers, the LaserTower, like the LaserFeeder, can be
placed on a desk-top. For customers who need 6-7 drawers, the LaserTower
can be configured as a floor-standing device with the printer placed on
top. Customers who only need 2-4 functional drawers, but still want a
floor model, can opt for the complete 7-drawer tower containing a few
non-functional "storage drawers." For both the LaserFeeder and LaserTower,
an envelope feeder can be installed as an additional option on most
printers.

Prices for the LaserFeeder range from $1,495-$3,295, while prices for the
LaserTower range from $1,995-$4,995, depending on the number of paper bins
or paper drawers installed.
