GROUP 1 SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES DLL DEVELOPMENT FOR ACCUMAIL

May 18, 1994 - Group 1 Software today announced that it is developing a
Dynamically Linked Library (DLL) between Group 1's AccuMail and Microsoft
Word for Windows, WordPerfect for Windows and Paradox for Windows.

The word processor DLLs enable PC users to "pull down" AccuMail from their
documents any time they need to obtain a deliverable address. AccuMail
lets businesses standardize and correct US addresses and validate ZIP
Codes against the US Postal Service (USPS) National Database for maximum
deliverability. By validating postal codes and addresses, businesses can
comply with USPS automation requirements for First- and Third-Class mail
and thereby secure substantial discounts on postage while speeding
delivery. AccuMail can batch process all XBase file formats or look up an
individual address. For ambiguous addresses, businesses can browse the
USPS National Database for possible alternatives. AccuMail meets all USPS
requirements for coding accuracy and is USPS CASS-certified.

Third-party developers wishing to add this AccuMail functionality to their
own products are able to license the DLL toolkit for application
development, which frees them from writing their own user interface (UI)
component. This allows the integration of AccuMail with other
applications, such as accounting and telemarketing, for the purpose of
checking and correcting addresses. This approach also means that the
add-ins developed for Microsoft Word and WordPerfect can have the same
look and feel as add-ins built using the DLL toolkit by third-party
developers. Paradox users can call the AccuMail DLL using Object PAL.

"These new AccuMail products enable both software vendors and users to
obtain a deliverable address at the time of data entry. Since the user can
append the ZIP+4 with the delivery point barcode digits, the address can
also be POSTNET barcoded for faster delivery and postal discounts,"
explains Richard Kirsch, general manager of Group 1's microproducts
division.

The new DLL capability will be previewed at PC EXPO, June 28-30 in New York
City. It is anticipated that the new AccuMail products will be available
mid- to late-summer 1994. Both 5- and 10-user LAN versions of AccuMail
with DLL support will be available. For further information on Group 1
