GE RENTAL/LEASE EXPANDS; OPENS NEW LOCAL RENTAL SERVICE CENTERS IN DENVER,
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL AND ST. LOUIS

ATLANTA, May 16, 1994 -- GE Rental/Lease announced today the expansion of
its Local Rental Service Center program to include new facilities in
Denver, Minneapolis/St. Paul and St. Louis. The new facilities will stock
a broad inventory of desktop computers, notebooks, peripherals and
accessories to meet the growing computer rental needs of business
customers in those three regions.

The addition brings to 22 the number of Local Rental Service Centers
operated by GE Rental/Lease across North America. GE Rental/Lease opened
its first local rental facility in 1990.
"More of our customers are looking to GE Rental/Lease for personal,
one-stop rental service for their personal computer needs," said Paul
Barbas, manager of computer rental for GE Rental/Lease. "Providing
delivery, installation and pickup of rental equipment helps our customers
keep ahead."
Barbas also noted an increased demand for rental of mid-range workstations
for customers in engineering, accounting and financial services.

ISO 9002 Quality

In 1993, GE Rental/Lease received the prestigious ISO 9002 designation.
Under the ISO 9002 registration, the company's total quality management
program -- encompassing processes, policies and controls -- complies with
the highest international quality standards. GE Rental/Lease is the first
major computer rental company registered with the designation.

In January 1990, GE Rental/Lease opened its first five Local Rental Service
Centers in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, and Boston. Since
then, additional facilities have been added in Albany (N.Y.), Dallas,
Detroit, Houston, Montreal, New York City, Orlando, Ottawa, Philadelphia,
Phoenix, Rochester (N.Y.), Salt Lake City, Seattle and Toronto.

Benefits of Local Service

Computer rental is an efficient, cost-effective business solution,
providing equipment quickly and easily in a variety of situations,
including peak workloads or temporary crunches, short-term projects or
crises, product roll-outs, off-site events, training or presentations.

"If managers need extra computers for part of the year or special equipment
for a one-time or off-site project, rental is more cost-effective than
purchasing the equipment," said Barbas. "Like renting a car, you can rent
a computer, use it for the time you need it, then return it. You get the
equipment you need when you want it, plus you protect your budget and cash
flow."

According to GE Rental/Lease, computer rental has other benefits for
managers, such as:

o controlling costs by renting technology as needed;
o avoiding the time and expense involved with purchasing, as
  well as curtailing the need for expensive service contracts;
o eliminating the risk of using obsolete equipment.
