IOMEGA ANNOUNCES NEW BACKUP SOFTWARE FOR TAPE250 QIC-80 DRIVES

First to Provide Cross Platform Compatibility Between MS-DOS, Windows, and
OS/2

ROY, Utah, Apr. 25, 1994--Iomega Corporation today announced a new family
of backup software for its Tape250 Quarter Inch Cartridge (QIC) tape
backup drives that provide cross platform support between MS-DOS, Windows,
and OS/2 operating systems.

Iomega Backup, Iomega Backup Plus, and Iomega Backup for OS/2 are all cross
platform compatible allowing computer users to backup, restore, and
transfer data from QIC cartridges formatted in either MS-DOS, Windows, and
OS/2 seamlessly on any of the three operating systems. The software is
compatible with the industry standard QIC-40 and -80 data formats, and the
OS/2 version supports the extended HPFS (High Performance File System)
file format.

Iomega's backup applications are easy-to-use with a simple four-step backup
procedure. Unlike other competitive tape backup products that were
initially created to backup onto numerous floppy disks, Iomega backup was
designed specifically for tape drives providing fast efficient backup
management in MS-DOS, Windows, or OS/2 environments.

Iomega Backup Plus has the added benefit of reading archived data on
Irwin-formatted tapes.

"According to industry analysts, QIC-80 tape drives now dominate the
desktop backup market, and it is forecasted that nearly three million
drives could be sold worldwide this year," said Dudley Westlake, Iomega
director of tape marketing. "With the growing use of OS/2, many users deal
with the problem of supporting multiple operating system environments. We
believe cross-platform compatibility of archived data is a big step
forward in developing effective storage management systems."

Iomega Backup for OS/2 was developed by Iomega and MSR Development,
developers of Backmaster, an emerging leader in OS/2 backup software.

Iomega's Tape250 drives, introduced in 1992, have been well received
worldwide. The patented low profile design features low power consumption,
compatibility with existing 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch drive bays, and reads
QIC-40, -80, and Irwin data cartridges. They can also operate at even
faster speeds with optional controller cards available from Iomega.

Tape250 products are designed and manufactured in the United States and
have a two-year warranty. Pricing and Availability
Iomega Backup ships standard with Iomega Tape250 Internal drives.
Iomega Backup Plus now ships standard with all other Iomega Tape250
products including Tape250 Internal Plus, Tape250 External and Tape 250
Parallel Port.

Iomega Backup for OS/2 will become available during the second quarter of
1994 and will have a U.S. suggested retail price of $99.

Iomega Corporation (NASDAQ:IOMG) develops, manufactures and sells
high-performance removable mass storage subsystems for desktop and
portable computers, and for workstations. Iomega's patented Bernoulli

tape drives which read both QIC-80 and Irwin-formatted tapes, its 21MB
floppy drives using Floptical technology, and its 1.3 gigabyte LaserSafe
