IOMEGA ANNOUNCES TAPE250 PARALLEL PORT II DRIVE
50 Percent Faster Than Original

SPRING COMDEX '94, Atlanta, May 23, 1994--lomega Corporation today
announced it will begin shipping a new version of its Tape250 Parallel
Port tape backup drive incorporating a smaller, more transportable size,
and implementation of the latest parallel port specifications for up to 50
percent faster performance.

The external Tape250 Parallel Port 11 ships with Iomega Backup software and
comes with a 5-year limited warranty. It utilizes the IEEE 1284 parallel
communication specification for faster communication and better
compatibility with today's computers. lt is also bi-directional Enhanced
Parallel Port compatible. With an added pass-through parallel port,
additional devices such as a printer can be connected to the same
computer.

"The new Iomega Tape250 Parallel 11 drive is faster and more transportable
than other drives," said Dudley Westlake, director of marketing of
Iomega's tape division. "It is easier to carry making it an excellent
choice for backing up notebook and portable computers, or for MIS managers
who can take it from workstation to workstation making individual backups
of hard drives."

The drive is plug-and-play enabled in anticipation of future industry
support of embedded plug-and-play features in PC operating systems.

Iomega's Tape250 Parallel Port II joins Iomega's other patented Tape250
models which were the first commercially available one-inch high by
3.5-inch form factor products based on the floppy disk interface.

They ship with either Iomega Backup, or Iomega Backup Plus software. Iomega
Backup for OS/2 is available as an upgrade. Iomega backup software is easy
to use with its four step backup procedure, and gives Iomega Tape250
drives seamless cross-platform compatibility with DOS, Windows, and OS/2
operating systems.

Tape250 drives use 15 to 25 percent less power and are up to 60 percent
quieter than other similar tape drives. Because of a patented digital
servo controlled direct drive design, the drives have a low one-inch
profile.

The Tape250 products are designed and manufactured in the United States and
have an industry leading five-year warranty.

The Iomega Tape250 Parallel Port ll will be available in June with a U.S.
