IOMEGA ANNOUNCES TAPE510 BACKUP DRIVE

Minicartridge Capacity Up to 680 Megabyte

PC EXPO, New York City, June 28, 1994--Iomega Corporation announced today a
new line of Tape510 Quarter Inch Cartridge (QIC) tape backup drives. The
new drives extend Iomega's successful line of QIC-80 Tape250 tape backup
drives.

Tape510 stores 255MB using standard tape cartridges (510MB with
compression). Using extended length cartridges, Tape510 stores 340MB
(680MB with compression). The Tape510 drive is based on the new QIC 3010
minicartridge standard and is designed to also read QIC-40, 80, and Irwin
formatted tapes.

Tape510 is manufactured using Iomega's patented beltless design. Its
one-inch high design has fewer moving parts than other similar drives
making it cooler, quieter, and more reliable to use. They also utilize
thin-film magneto-resistive read/write heads and support data transfer
rates up to 9.5MB per minute.

Tape510 Internal is easy to use and plugs easily into the floppy
controller. Tape510 Parallel Port drives utilize the IEEE 1284 parallel
communication specification for faster communication and better
compatibility with today's computers. It is also bi-directional Enhanced
Parallel Port compatible making it plug-in-play enabled.

"As hard disk capacity increases, QIC tape backup technology is keeping up.
The Tape510 is the right capacity for today's large hard disks," said
Dudley Westlake, director of marketing of Iomega's tape products. "Floppy
disks just are not suitable for backing up today's large hard drives.
Iomega Tape510 cartridges are far more economical than the equivalent
number of floppy disks needed to backup an entire hard drive."

Iomega's Tape510 tape drives join Iomega's other Tape250 models which were
the first available 1-inch high by 3.5-inch products using the floppy disk
interface.

The drives ship with Iomega Backup software. Iomega Backup for OS/2 will be
available as an upgrade. Iomega backup software is full featured, has an
easy step-by-step backup procedure, and gives Iomega Tape250 and Tape510
drives seamless cross-platform compatibility with DOS, Windows, and OS/2
operating systems. Pricing and Availability

Iomega Tape510 Internal drive has a U.S. suggested retail price of $399.
The Iomega Tape510 Parallel Port drive has a U.S. suggested retail price
of $599. Evaluation units are currently available. Volume production is
projected for third quarter 1994.

Iomega Corporation (NASDAQ:IOMG) develops, manufactures and sells removable
mass storage subsystems for desktop and portable computers, and for
workstations. Iomega's patented Tape250 QIC backup tape drives provide
cross-platform backup for DOS, Windows, and OS/2 operating systems and
read Irwin-formatted tapes. Iomega's patented Bernoulli technology
provides unlimited data storage capability by combining the removability
and security of floppy drives with the high capacity and performance of
rigid drives. Iomega also sells 21MB floppy drives using Floptical
technology, and 1.3 gigabyte LaserSafe Plus magneto-optical drives.
