DataBoss 2.0 Opens the Door to Custom Database Applications on National
Wireless Networks

Available in August, DataBoss 2.0 will be the first development tool for
designing custom relational database applications for use on Motorola's
EMBARC nationwide wireless messaging network. With DataBoss, organizations
could, for example, create custom software that instantly broadcasts price
and inventory changes to thousands of field salespeople nationwide. Users
who register as DataBoss wireless developers before October 31st will also
receive a free wireless modem and other premiums from Motorola. Also new:
the ability to write applications that support Caller ID.

PC EXPO. New York, June 28. 1994 -- Kedwell Software announces the first
database application development tool to provide instant wireless data
communications to thousands or millions of recipients via Motorola's
EMBARC nationwide messaging network.

Available in August, DataBoss 2.0 ($99.95) will be the first custom
relational database development tool that works with the EMBARC
(Electronic Mail Broadcast to a Roaming Computer) network. DataBoss 2.0
will give many organizations a way to tap wireless technology for the
first time, creating custom applications that can inexpensively broadcast
changes and automatically update multiple databases in thousands of
computers nationwide.

To further encourage the development of software applications that use
EMBARC, Motorola is offering a free wireless modem (regular price: $395),
3 months free subscription to EMBARC, $500 worth of free airtime and other
assistance to anyone who purchases DataBoss and becomes a registered
wireless developer. Motorola's pocket-sized wireless modem is completely
portable, and can collect and store messages even when the host computer
is turned off. This offer extends until October 31, 1994.

DataBoss 2.0 now also provides easy support for caller ID. Now available as
its own field type, DataBoss 2.0's caller ID feature requires no extra
programming to use. By plugging in the Windows Hinge (an $80 serial-port
device), developers can quickly add caller ID to their next database
application. For example: DataBoss 2.0 could be used to generate a
customer support application in which, when a call comes in, the customer
record will appear on the screen even before the technician picks up the
phone.

"This new release will substantially reduce the learning curve for
developers who have little or no background in wireless data
communications and want to take advantage of EMBARC's wireless technology"
says Phil Scanlan, general manager of Kedwell Software. "It gives database
managers and programmers an easy, familiar environment in which to develop
EMBARC-enabled database applications. There simply isn't a faster way to
begin integrating wireless data communications into custom applications."

DataBoss for Windows is a complete relational database management system
that generates fully functional database applications. DataBoss does all
parts of the application including menus, relational data files, data
entry screens, tables, forms and reports. DataBoss can create multi-user
applications without having to write a single line of code. DataBoss has
no runtime fees, and is completely royalty free. DataBoss automatically
generates fully extensible C++ source code which you can modify as you
like, and then run through your favorite compiler. DataBoss 2.0 reads and
writes in xBase (.DBF) and DataBoss (.DAT) file formats.

EMBARC's wireless messaging network uses the cost efficiencies of paging
technology to send information to one or thousands of mobile recipients,
often for pennies a person. The new release of DataBoss will apply the
same kind of efficiencies to database updates, allowing changes and new
data to be broadcast to multiple databases, in stationary or mobile
computers, and automatically update them. EMBARC delivers wireless
electronic mail, binary data files and database updates to computers,
personal digital assistants and other communication devices in more than
230 cities across the United States and Canada.

Kedwell Software provides database application development tools to the
computer industry. Kedwell's DataBoss allows developers to paint their
application on the screen and then generate industry-standard C++ source
code. This blend of rapid development and flexibility has proven popular
with developers worldwide.

DataBoss 2.0 for Windows will ship in August 1994, and carry an
introductory price of $99.95 until October 31, 1994. (Regular list price
is $149.95). Membership in Kedwell's Wireless Application Developer
program is $49.95. Learn more by contacting Kedwell Software, 75 Congress
