KODAK PICTURE EXCHANGE ON-LINE SERVICE FOR WINDOWS PREVIEWED AT PC EXPO

NEW YORK, June 28--The Kodak Picture Exchange on-line image retrieval
service for Windows is being demonstrated for the first time here at PC
Expo. The software, in the final stages of beta testing, enables stock
photography users 24-hour, automated access to a sophisticated database of
over 100,000 images. Orders are being taken now for mid-summer
availability.

Announced last November for the Macintosh operating environment, the Kodak
Picture Exchange is an on-line global image service network. This first
application focuses on the commercial stock photo market.

The service brings together commercial stock photography agencies with the
customers they serve, including advertising agencies, graphic designers,
publishers and researchers.

Currently, the Kodak Picture Exchange links 23 stock photo agencies with
customers interested in leasing images for a variety of applications, from
brochures to multimedia presentations. Over 100,000 images are available,
and more are added daily.

Simplify Image Searches

By subscribing to the Kodak Picture Exchange, desktop computer users armed
with a modem and access software can simplify image searches. With only a
few key words or phrases, they can locate image titles that match their
search criteria. Users may download selected images right to their desktop
in seconds.

Once users select the image or images they need, the Kodak Picture Exchange
provides a form to request each image from the stock agency that owns it.
The agency then contacts the user by phone, negotiates usage fees
directly--just as they do today--and sends the requested negative,
transparency or digital image by messenger or overnight courier.

No Monthly Charges Or Minimums

The Kodak Picture Exchange imposes no monthly charges or minimums. An
optional design proof image with higher resolution can be ordered for a
nominal fee. Users can export the design proof image into rough layouts in
their design software.

The costs for searching stock house images on the Kodak Picture Exchange
include an on-line use-charge rate of $1.42 per minute, which allows users
to search for and retrieve as many low-resolution images as they like.

"The Kodak Picture Exchange is more cost-effective for image searches than
traditional methods," said Market Development Manager Mike Harrigan.
"We've combined several Kodak technological strengths--including Photo CD,
image indexing and retrieval techniques, and mass storage systems--to
bring improved productivity to those who search for stock images."

System Requirements

To access the Picture Exchange, users need the Kodak Picture Exchange
access software package, which Kodak provides when the user signs up for
the service.

In addition to software, users require a minimum hardware configuration of
an IBM PC or compatible 80386 or 80486 computer, 8MB of RAM, Microsoft
Windows system 3.1 or higher and 20MB of available hard disk space. A 16
or 24-bit color display is recommended. With any configuration, a 14.4
modem is recommended for better performance.

At sign-up, Kodak will assign each user an identification number and
password, and will provide a toll-free number to enable access to the
Kodak Picture Exchange database in Rochester. Most users will establish
their links to the service over conventional telephone lines. Those users
who want faster data transmission may want to consider installing a Switch
56 or ISDN line if those services are available from their telephone
service provider.

Users signing onto the Kodak Picture Exchange today will have access to
