KODAK SHOWS NEW SOFTWARE, DIGITAL CAMERA, CD JUKEBOX;
HOSTS LAW ENFORCEMENT SEMINAR AT PC EXPO

NEW YORK, June 28 Visitors to the Eastman Kodak Company booth at PC Expo
(#439) will see the first public demonstrations of a high-resolution
digital camera and a compact disc "jukebox" for Windows users.

Kodak is also showing beta versions of two software packages expected to
ship this summer, and visitors will see a variety of previously-introduced
imaging software products and thermal dye transfer printers that bring
color images to PC users.

Police officials and other visitors can register for a special seminar,
conducted just off the show floor, at which customers in law enforcement
will describe how they are using many Kodak products to help solve cases
and apprehend suspects more quickly.

Two recently introduced products are making their public debut at PC Expo:

* The Kodak Professional DCS 420 digital camera captures 36-bit color
images at a total resolution of 1.5 million pixels, and stores them on
removable PCMCIA cards.

Kodak designed the DCS 420 for users who require a combination of rapid
turnaround and high-quality images. Target applications include desktop
publishing, presentation development, catalog publishing, scientific
research and a variety of "on-location" imaging needs. The camera also is
well-suited for a range of military, law enforcement and government
applications.

The DCS 420 complements the recently released Associated Press NC 2000
digital camera, which Kodak developed exclusively for the news service.

* The Kodak Professional Image Library 30, newly available with Windows
software, stores as many as 100 CDs providing users on-line access to
10,000 full-resolution 35 mm images stored on Photo CD master discs, or up
to 60 gigabytes of information stored in other data formats.

Kodak also is demonstrating beta versions of two key programs in its suite
of software products. Kodak's multimedia authoring software, Arrange-It,
is being shown in its Windows format for the first time. That software is
due to ship in August. Also being shown is the Windows software interface
for the Kodak Picture Exchange, an on-line service that links users of
images with providers such as stock photography houses. The beta software,
expected to be available late in July, is in the final stages of testing.

Kodak Imaging Software

Visitors to the Kodak booth will see demonstrations of imaging software
products designed to take advantage of Kodak Photo CD technology:

* Kodak Shoebox Photo CD image manager software helps commercial users (on
Windows or Macintosh computers) manage thousands of multimedia files
stored on the desktop. Users can index, catalog and search "thumbnail"
images stored in various file formats--plus audio clips and other
files--through data fields, key words and captions. Kodak PhotoEdge Photo
CD software serves as a "digital darkroom," providing Windows or Macintosh
computer users with a simple-to-use tool for picture enhancement, without
the expense or learning curve associated with more advanced image editing
applications. PhotoEdge is presently available in "Photo CD Starter-Kit"
packaging, which includes a single-use camera and a discount coupon for
disc transfer services.

* Kodak Photo CD Access Plus software lets Windows or Macintosh computer
users work with all current Photo CD disc formats--including Photo CD
master discs for 35 mm film images, and Pro Photo CD master discs for
professional photographic images from 35 mm or larger film formats. Access
Plus software also lets users play Photo CD portfolio discs, a multimedia
publishing format that combines still images with sound, text, graphics
and interactive menu branching.

* Kodak Photo CD Acquire Module for Adobe Photoshop software (for Windows
or Macintosh computers) is a plug-in that lets users select Photo CD
resolutions, crop images, and adjust brightness, saturation and color
balance all before loading images into the Photoshop program.

Color Thermal Printers

Kodak also is demonstrating a number of printers that produce
continuoustone color images of nearly photographic quality using thermal
dye transfer technology. Printer models being demonstrated include:

* The Kodak ColorEase PS printer produces page-size color transparencies
and prints. The ColorEase printer employs the Adobe PostScript level 2
page description language, allowing users to work with most popular
software packages for presentations and desktop publishing.

* The Kodak 450GL printer outputs 4- x 5-inch, continuous-tone color prints
in under two minutes. Applications include concept proofs--when it's too
early or too expensive to go to full-size color output--and a wide range
of other applications for medium-format prints.

* The Kodak XLT 7720 digital continuous-tone printer is targeted at service
bureaus, and is specially designed to produce high-quality overhead
transparencies or prints in a single pass, in sizes up to 11 x 11 inches.

* The Kodak XLS 8300 digital printer produces a color print or transparency
from a raster file in just over three minutes. Five output sizes are
available for prints, and four for transparencies.
