Compu-Share announces LoanWatch, Banker in a Box.

LoanWatch is the first professional quality loan verification software
package specifically targeted to borrowers, enabling them to validate the
accuracy of their interest charges and principal balance. This package has
been used by small business, accountants, real estate investors,
homeowners and banks to audit loan records. LoanWatch's step by step
design allows persons unfamiliar with complex loan covenants to obtain a
schedule which accurately reflects the status of their loan. Though simple
to operate, the software is very robust and can track loans with variable
or index-based interest rates, multiple advances, extra principal payments
or complicated rules regarding payment change dates. Almost any type of
loan can be audited: fixed rate mortgages, variable rate mortgages (ARMs),
commercial daily interest loans, home equity loans and consumer loans.

Borrowers have traditionally deferred loan calculations to the lender.
However, as reported in many different journals, lenders often make
mistakes as clerks interpret loan documents and enter data into computer
systems. It is the borrowers ultimate responsibility to verify all loan
calculations. LoanWatch was created to facilitate the easy verification of
all loan details.

A unique LoanWatch feature is the built-in historical data on over thirty
(30) interest rate indexes from 1980 through 1993. The user of the package
can choose to maintain the tables for future interest index changes or
subscribe to an index service from Compu-Share for this information. All
LoanWatch data is stored in a Microsoft Access database. This means that
the user can use other software packages to create reports based on
information in the LoanWatch files or extract information for spreadsheet
or word processing applications.

LoanWatch uses "tabbed folders" for simplicity in entering data. A
description folder contains textual loan details such as loan number and
lender. The advance folder is used to enter the loan amount, or each date
and amount for a multiple advance loan. The interest folder is used to
specify the interest rate or interest rate index along with other
particulars about how often the interest rate changes on variable rate
loans. The payment folder maintains a payment history and any extra
payments or partial payments on the loan. The loan schedule folder then
displays the complete analysis for the loan as a compilation of all the
data entered in the previous folders.

An amortization calculator is included with the product for "predictive"
type loan schedules. The fourth loan variable is automatically computed
given any three loan parameters: payment, interest rate, periods and loan
amount. Canadian and European schedules are also supported.

LoanWatch runs on a personal computer under Microsoft Windows 3.1 and
requires approximately 4MB of disk space and 4MB RAM. The LoanWatch
package is priced at $149.00 but is available as a special introductory
offer of $99.00 until August 31, 1994. Compu-Share, Inc. has been
supplying financial and accounting software products to businesses across
the United States and Canada since 1977.
