MapInfo Ships Version 3.0 for Windows

TROY, N.Y., June 6, 1994--MapInfo Corporation (NASDAQ: MAPS), the worldwide
leader in desktop mapping software, today began shipping MapInfo Version
3.0 for Windows and Version 3.0 of the MapBasic Development Environment
programming language.

MapInfo Version 3.0 offers the most complete solution available for
business users to view and analyze corporate data geographically. It
delivers enhanced functionality that makes desktop mapping accessible for
a wider range of users.

Enhancements and new functionality in MapInfo 3.0 include:

New Data Visualization Features--New powerful data visualization features
such as raster image support, thematic map enhancements and enhanced

New Geographic Analysis Functionality--With advanced polygon operations,
data-driven buffers and advanced editing functions, users can design

MapInfo partners and corporate developers to build custom vertical mapping
applications. Enhancements include increased programmatic control, the
ability to link multiple MapBasic modules through a project file, custom
buttons and access to remote database query and update capabilities.

Pricing/Availability

MapInfo for Windows is priced at $1,295; MapBasic Development Environment
for Windows is $795. Upgrade pricing effective through June 30, 1994 is as
follows: MapInfo for Windows (including migration from DOS), $199;
MapBasic for Windows, $99. After July 1, 1994, pricing is as follows:
MapInfo for Windows, $299 (including migration from DOS); MapBasic for
Windows, $199. Version 3.0 for Macintosh and UNIX will ship in late
summer/early fall.
