Easy Windows Access to Internet News and Mail

June 1, 1994 (Waterloo, ON)--Mortice Kern Systems today announced the
availability of their new product, MKS Internet Anywhere. Internet
Anywhere is an easy-to-use software package that demystifies PC access to
the Internet. It offers a collection of programs to explore and take
advantage of the incredible resources of news and mail on the Internet.

The network news capabilities provided by MKS Internet Anywhere give the
user a forum for discussion and information on any subject. One can use
the intuitive Windows news reader to read news articles from computer
users sharing similar interests and expertise or post news articles to
initiate and respond to debates and discussions in the thousands of
available newsgroups.

Users have the ability to send and receive e-mail on the Internet to
locations around the globe or just next door. MKS Internet Anywhere
includes a mail reader and editor that make reading and writing mail
messages quick and easy. One is able to organize mail in personalized
folders to keep track of related information, and use drag and drop
facilities to store and retrieve frequently used mail addresses in an
address book.

With MKS Internet Anywhere, users can connect with other computers quickly
and easily. There is a scheduler to plan input and output operations, such
as bringing news onto the computer nightly when it is not otherwise in
use. Multiple users can work on the same system with their own
personalized mail folders.

All the user needs is a PC running MS Windows 3.1, a modem, a UUCP network
connection, and MKS Internet Anywhere to enjoy using Internet mail and
news. The Windows interface to all components makes setup and use of MKS
Internet Anywhere intuitive for even naive users.

The product will be accompanied by a booklet of access providers listed
geographically. Since MKS Internet Anywhere is non-proprietary, the
customer has a choice as to who they go to for their UUCP connection.

"MKS Internet Anywhere is not positioned to compete with on-line services
such as CompuServe, Prodigy, GEnie, or any of the LAN-based e-mail
applications like cc:Mail," said Dan Latendre, product manager, MKS
Internet Anywhere. "Rather, MKS's mission is to be the preferred choice in
Internet access for Windows users. We offer a product that is so easy to
learn, so fun to use, and so affordable that anyone can ride the
information superhighway."

A Windows product with mass market appeal, MKS Internet Anywhere serves the
mail and news requirements of the home or remote office user, the nomadic
professional, users in government and education sectors, organizations
looking for distributed connectivity, and the recreational computer user.
MKS Internet Anywhere is the software package that meets users' needs 24
hours a day--at the office, at home, during travel, and for
social/entertainment opportunities.

Gardner provides detailed, hands on instructions on how to access the

bookstore chains across North America for US$34.95.
