AT&T PARADYNE, RADISH COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS ANNOUNCE VOICE AND DATA
INTEGRATION PLANS

AT&T Licenses Radish's VoiceView To Integrate It Into VoiceSpan

LARGO, FL (May 23, 1994) -- AT&T Paradyne and Radish Communications
Systems, Inc. have agreed to develop interworking technology between the
industry's two leading voice-and-data technologies -- AT&T's VoiceSpan and
Radish's VoiceView.

VoiceSpan allows simultaneous voice-and-data communications by splitting a
phone line into separate voice and data channels, while VoiceView provides
alternating voice-and-data communications using the full bandwidth of a
single channel. These technologies need only a single telephone line to
send both voice and data.

Under the terms of the agreement, effective May 29, AT&T will license
VoiceView and integrate it into its VoiceSpan offering. The two companies
will work together to provide the necessary protocols to allow the two
technologies to communicate with one another -opening up a broader market
for hardware and software developers interested in voice and data
integration.

VoiceSpan is part of AT&T's voice-and-data initiative to bring together a
portfolio of integrated, interworking voice-and-data technologies under
one umbrella. This will include VoiceSpan, which currently provides for
analog simultaneous voice-and-data, and VoiceView, a switching mechanism
between analog or digital voice and data. The AT&T initiative will also
ultimately add higher-bandwidth, digital simultaneous voice-and-data.

Radish also has support for the VoiceView protocol from a number of other
hardware and software companies interested in integrated voice-and-data
communications, including Ameritech, Dialogic Corporation, Hayes
Microcomputer Products, Intel Corporation, Microsoft Corporation,
Multi-Tech Systems, Octel Communications Corporation, Rockwell
International and U.S. Robotics. VoiceView-enabled products and services
will be introduced to the market beginning third quarter of '94.

"VoiceView and VoiceSpan are broadly seen as the two most popular
voice-and-data technologies available on the market today -- and this
agreement is a significant step in unifying the market potential for both
technologies," said Don Cooper, president of personal communications
technologies for AT&T Paradyne.

"AT&T and Radish could have decided to continue competing head-to-head in
the voice-and-data marketplace, but instead have chosen to work together
to provide the broadest possible benefit to the end user and the greatest
utility for the integration of voice and data worldwide," said David
Klein, president and CEO of Radish. "This agreement is an important event
for the communications industry."

Headquartered in Largo, Florida, AT&T Paradyne licenses data communications
and telecommunications technologies. The company is a leading developer,
manufacturer and marketer of high-speed modems, multiplexers and other
telecommunications devices for individuals, businesses and network
operators worldwide. AT&T Paradyne invented and markets the VoiceSpan
technology for use in a broad range of faxes, telephones, modems and other
personal communications devices.

Radish Communications Systems, Inc. of Boulder, Colorado, focuses on the
universal integration of voice and data. As the owner and inventor of
VoiceView, the company develops and markets products that are designed to
increase the efficiency and value of telephone computer transactions. In
addition to the VoiceView protocol, Radish offers a full product line of
VoiceView applications software and display devices.
