NOMDA/LANDA Convention Offers Mix of Familiar and New

Kansas City, Mo. (May 11, 1994) -- NOMDA/LANDA's 1994 Las Vegas convention
offers something for office automation dealers, value-added resellers, and
everyone in between.

Billed as the International Business Expo '94, the show will be held July
12-15 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. For the second year, NOMDA/LANDA
has joined with NOPA, the National Office Products Association, on a
combined show which draws more than 25,000 attendees.

IBE '94 will connect office machine dealers, VARs and systems integrators
with the latest business and information technology products, along with
an educational forum for improving sales performance, learning new
technology solutions and exploring new profit opportunities.

General Colin L. Powell, retired chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for
the Department of Defense, will address conferees on "Managing through
Crisis and Change" in a special keynote presentation July 12.

Exhibitors will include vendors familiar to the office equipment industry,
such as Canon, Minolta, Ricoh and Xerox, as well as vendors with high-end
connectivity products and network computing technology.

"This event has grown to be an important forum in the office automation
industry," said Leon Carter, NOMDA/LANDA president. "We're continuing to
grow involvement and emphasis on networking technology, representing a new
direction in the industry linking office equipment and computers for
business solutions."

Special workshops will be held on Microsoft at Work and Novell's NEST, the
first networking products integrating office equipment with PCs and
peripherals.

Introduced last year, the 1994 Las Vegas convention will again feature a
"Networking Pavilion" on the show floor. The special section highlights
exhibitors from the networking segment of the computer industry.

This year's Las Vegas show includes a repeat of NOMDA/LANDA's highly
successful "Connectivity Boot Camp" and "Build a Network" lab. The Boot
Camp gives dealers an introduction to LANs, covering the basics in digital
networks. "Build a Network" provides a hands-on lab in which participants
can use their new-found knowledge on a working LAN. The lab will be
located on the show floor.

Boot Camp graduates, and business owners with basic experience in LANs, can
stretch their connectivity knowledge at a new class, "Advanced Survival
Skills," which teaches LAN installation, troubleshooting and expansion
techniques. Another new class, "The Business of LANs," teaches these
dealers how to gauge the profit potential of expanding into the LAN
business.

Registrants will have access to both the NOMDA/LANDA and NOPA convention
floors and up to 60 educational programs. Special events, such as the
connectivity classes and opening night concert featuring Wynonna Judd and
Collin Raye, carry an additional charge.

NOMDA/LANDA, evolving to the new name Business Technology Association, is
an international organization serving over 4,500 members in the office
automation and network computing industry. Its membership of dealers,
value-added resellers, systems integrators, manufacturers and distributors
provide business solutions in such products as computer systems, copiers,
document imaging, facsimile transmission, local area networks, mailing
equipment, software, systems integration and wide area networks. The
Association offers ongoing educational programs and member services and
promotes quality solutions, installation and service support to the
end-user.
