NOMDA/LANDA Becomes Business Technology Association

Kansas City, Mo. (May 4, 1994) - Members of NOMDA/LANDA voted
overwhelmingly in favor of adopting the new name Business Technology
Association, or BTA. The association's 4,000 voting members of dealers and
VARs approved the name change by a nine to one margin.

NOMDA/LANDA, the only reseller-driven association in the network computing
and office automation industries, was the result of a merger last year
between the National Office Machines Dealers Association and the Local
Area Network Dealers Association.

The associations each have long histories of service to members in the
respective industries. NOMDA began as a typewriter dealers association in
1926, and grew with its members over the years to encompass copiers, fax
machines and connectivity products and systems.

LANDA was the first network computing association in an industry which
began forming 15 years ago. From its start a grassroots organization of
VARs and systems integrators, LANDA was instrumental in establishing
professionalism in a young industry.

Leon Carter, BTA president, says the name change symbolizes the
association's focus on growing its members' influence in a business
technology market that is moving toward a totally integrated environment.

"Our members represent a breadth of technologies reflected in the
integration of office equipment and network computing, spurred by the
digital revolution," Carter said. "We believe 'Business Technology
Association' tells manufacturers and end-user customers our members
provide business solutions in the rapidly evolving technologies of our
industries.

"We feel our members are ready to embrace the exciting growth opportunities
technology allows, and approving the name change tells us they welcome the
association's new direction to ensure its place as a valuable resource
to-this changing industry.

"The bottom line is we retain members and we obtain members, drawing the
best of NOMDA's and LANDA's pasts, and moving our association and our
members forward in the 'channel' lane of the information superhighway,"
Carter concluded.

The association will phase in the Business Technology Association name over
the next several weeks.

Business Technology Association is an international organization serving
more than 4,500 dealers, value-added resellers, manufacturers and
distributors providing total office automation and systems integration
solutions.
