KnowledgeWare Supports Lotus NotesSQL for Broad Accessibility to Business
Critical Information

ObjectView and ClearAccess product lines certified with Lotus NotesSQL

NEW YORK (June 28, 1994) -- To provide end users with client/server
applications that seamlessly access vital information throughout an
organization, KnowledgeWare Inc. today announced that its ObjectView and
ClearAccess product lines have been enabled, tested and certified with
Lotus NotesSQL. This announcement represents a significant step for the
delivery of user-centered applications and systems that remove barriers to
critical information from a variety of sources including production
systems, data warehouses, personal databases, as well as Lotus Notes.

"The powerful combination of KnowledgeWare tools and Lotus NotesSQL greatly
extends the concept of groupware to remove the barriers for end users to
information that may reside on many systems throughout an organization,"
said Donald P. Addington, KnowledgeWare president and chief operating
officer. "So many organizations have standardized on Lotus Notes that it
has become a rich additional source of information for business critical
applications."

Developers can use KnowledgeWare tools to develop client/server
applications, as well as perform ad hoc queries and generate reports, that
include information from Lotus Notes environments. Using NotesSQL in
combination with KnowledgeWare's ObjectView and ClearAccess, companies
will be able to access and integrate data from Lotus Notes as well as
nearly 75 other databases.

For example, developers could use ObjectView to create a high-performance
enterprise application accessing Oracle and Sybase databases in
combination with Lotus Notes. Or, with point-and-click techniques, an
end-user could use ClearAccess to request critical information for
business decisions from several key databases and sources including Lotus
Notes to create a single report or document.

Jeff Papows, vice president, Notes Product Division, Lotus Development
Corp., said, "We are extremely pleased that KnowledgeWare has enabled both
ObjectView and ClearAccess to include Lotus Notes. The combination of
KnowledgeWare's tools and Lotus Notes provides an innovative environment
for both developers and end users."

ObjectView also supports the extended VIM (Vendor Independent Messaging)
specification so end users can send messages and documents through either
Lotus Notes or Lotus cc:Mail from ObjectView-developed client/server
applications. As a result, desktop, departmental and enterprise
applications can communicate as integrated components throughout an
organization. KnowledgeWare also is a member of the Lotus Professional
Developers Program.

Lotus NotesSQL includes the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) protocols for
communicating with multiple databases in client/server environments. Lotus
Notes is the industry standard platform for developing and deploying
groupware applications.

KnowledgeWare's ObjectView Desktop is a Windows-based development tool
scaled for desktop developers who want a comprehensive yet affordable
visual development environment. ObjectView Enterprise is a comprehensive
environment for diverse and complex client/server applications. Both tools
include high-performance native database drivers and middleware
connections to nearly 75 databases and database servers.

ClearAccess and ClearManager are easy-to-use graphical database access and
management tools for Windows and Macintosh environments. They provide end
users, application developers and database administrators with easy-to-use
data query and reporting tools, as well as critical administrative
functions to help ensure efficient and non-disruptive client/server
environments.

ObjectView Desktop is introductory priced at $199 and ObjectView Enterprise
is priced at $3,200; both are currently available. ClearAccess is priced
at $460 and ClearManager is priced at $4,500; both are currently
available.
