MINUTEMAN INTRODUCES NEW PRODUCTS

Alliance Series boasts new look, lower prices and extended VA

Carrollton, Texas (June 15, 1994) -- With a unique new appearance, lower
prices and two new models, the MINUTEMAN Alliance Series of
uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) has become the most comprehensive
UPS product line in the low end of the market. The newly designed Alliance
units will be exhibited in booth #734 at PC EXPO in New York on June
28-30. The A900 is priced at $549 while the A1250 is $729.

Characterized by their small size, the Alliance Series now includes new
line-interactive units with a 900 and 1250VA rating in addition to
previously released units ranging from 300 to 750VA.

"Starting at 500VA, our Alliance UPSs are line-interactive, which means
they provide an automatic voltage boost when power dips without accessing
the batteries," said Les Robertson, vice president of sales and marketing.
"This important feature provides continuous line conditioning and promotes
longer battery life.

"In competing with other UPS vendors, our goal is to bring more features to
the end user for less money," Robertson said. "With our aggressive
pricing, the Alliance Series accomplishes this goal by bringing
line-interactive technology to the end user for the price of a standby
UPS."

Among the features incorporated in the new units are LEDs that indicate AC
normal, voltage boost, inverter mode (accessing batteries) and a site
wiring fault indicator. An audible alarm sounds every 10 seconds when the
UPS is in the inverter mode and changes to once every second at low
battery warning.

In addition to the LEDs, two features unique to the Alliance Series are a
test button that simulates a blackout so the end user can verify the UPS
is functioning properly and a self-diagnostic test which runs at turn on.

The Alliance Series UPSs are used mainly with network file servers,
workstations, standalone PCs, telecommunications systems and POS
equipment. Prices range from $149 to $729.

The new units will be available in April 1994 through MINUTEMAN's
distributors, dealers and VARs worldwide. MINUTEMAN also provides a power
hotline for technical questions and sizing requirements at 800-238-7272.

MINUTEMAN, a privately held company founded in 1982, is a leading provider
