MINUTEMAN INTRODUCES THE FIRST POWER MONITORING AND SHUTDOWN SOFTWARE FOR
WINDOWS

CARROLLTON, TEXAS (June 20, 1994)--MINUTEMAN continues to manufacture
innovative products with its introduction of the first Windows version of
power monitoring and shutdown software on the market. LANMASTER for
Windows monitors and provides detailed information on the power status of
MINUTEMAN's intelligent PowerMind UPS. Both will be exhibited in booth
#734 during PC EXPO in New York on June 28-30.

Having the same look and feel as your typical Windows oriented product,
LANMASTER for Windows uses icons and pull down menus. It also provides a
detailed color graphical display of information such as temperature, power
load and AC voltage.

If the UPS detects a utility power failure, the software will automatically
broadcast a warning message on the screen which alerts the user that the
UPS has switched to battery mode. In the left hand corner of the screen
LANMASTER displays the available run time both before and after the
switching mode occurs. In addition, the software keeps track of the
battery life and informs the user when it needs replacing.

A unique feature of this software is its color graph which sits at the top
of the screen displaying the activity of the charge status and battery
voltage over the last ten minutes. All fluctuations are recorded in a line
graph and this data is written to a

LANMASTER for Windows is an excellent tool for a single-user desktop
environment. It can be set to run a scheduled test to check that the UPS
is working in optimum condition. All of the parameters such as the time
and day of this test are at the complete discretion of the user.

If the UPS detects a utility power failure the software will automatically
activate a timer, specified by the user, allowing them to continue
working, but warns of the possibility of a system shutdown. The timer
allows the user to save their work and log off the system. When the UPS
detects power restoration, LANMASTER will revert back to a normal
monitoring state and will notify the user that utility power has been
restored. In addition, LANMASTER will initiate an unattended orderly
shutdown of the system when the battery runs out.

The software also communicates key messages such as one-minute warning,
momentary disruption, battery low, power failure, power restored and many
others.

LANMASTER for WINDOWS software is priced at $69 and the MINUTEMAN PowerMind
Series of UPSs that are compatible with this software range in price from
$579 to $1049. The software will be available at the end of May, while the
UPSs are ready now for immediate delivery by calling MINUTEMAN at
