Datasonix Introduces Highest-Capacity Mobile Companion Storage Product for
Notebook, Sub-Notebook Users

Carry All Your Data With You Everywhere

BOULDER, Colo, June 27, 1994--Datasonix Corporation, the mobile companion
products company, today introduced a mobile companion storage product for
notebook and subnotebook computer users who want the power, convenience
and competitive advantage of having all their information and software
with them, no matter where they are.

Called the Datasonix Pereos (pronounced "PEAR-e-os"), it is an external
storage system for Windows and DOS computers capable of managing and
storing from one gigabyte (GB) of data up to 100 GBs or more It weighs
less than 10 ounces and stores the information on postage stamp-sized
cartridges, each capable of holding up to 1.25 GB of compressed data or
the equivalent of 868 144 MB floppy diskettes. The Datasonix Pereos runs
on two standard AA batteries for approximately four months, and needs less
space in a briefcase or on a desktop than a soft drink can The intuitive
and powerful software tools make it easy to manage, protect, locate and
use 1 GB or more of your information and applications.

"The promise of mobile computing has not been fulfilled because users have
been limited by complex and unreliable ways of carrying or accessing the
information they need while away from the office," said James Greenup,
president of Datasonix. "Unlike alternatives, the Datasonix Pereos is the
first product specifically designed for mobile computer users to let them
carry all their information with them, wherever they are."

Datasonix Pereos: Power, Convenience, Competitive Advantage

Marketing executives, salespeople, lawyers, accountants, editors and
engineers no longer need to decide what information to download, access or
carry on diskette when away from the office They can use the Datasonix
Pereos to carry all their information with them at all times, including
applications, utilities, personal documents, work files and even archived
server files The name "Pereos" is derived from the Greek "peraion" meaning
"to transport."

The device can also be used to expand the capacity of a hard disk drive by
enabling the simple removal and addition of large files such as multimedia
presentations, customer databases, reference materials or stored images It
can also simplify the sharing of information between a single user's PC
and mobile computer, or between multiple users' PCs In addition the Pereos
software feature such as "fuzzy find" help users locate documents quickly,
and, because Pereos always retains a copy of the latest version, it
provides the safest storage for a user's information.

The combination of Datasonix' powerful Pereos software and innovative
hardware makes all of this possible.

Datasonix' Pereos hardware offers convenient and cost-effective options for
mobile computing The device is actually two pieces--a base containing two
AA batteries and the computer chips that control the device, and a
detachable unit that holds the cartridge and contains the recording
mechanism Users can utilize a single device for their portable computers,
or between their portable and desktop computers, by simply disconnecting
and carrying the unit with them An easier way, with the two-piece design,
allows users to leave a base plugged into each computer and shuttle the
detachable recording component between them, at lower cost than two
complete devices.

Accessing the data is as convenient as connecting the Datasonix Pereos into
the computer parallel port and using the easy-to-use information
management software provided No more hassle of finding a telephone line to
connect to a modem, or manipulating complex, unreliable wireless
communications connections, or shuffling handfuls of diskettes.

The Datasonix Pereos also provides its users with a competitive advantage
by enabling them to have all pertinent information, including previous
document versions, presentations, reference materials or latest pricing
figures at their fingertips Now instead of worrying about whether any
important documents have been left behind, users are assured of having
everything in a compact, lightweight package.

Market Opportunity: Mobile Companion Products

Dataquest, a market research firm, estimates that 1994 shipments of laptop,
notebook and sub-notebook computers will exceed 8 million units, and by
1997, shipments will reach almost 17 million units. As the mobile computer
users increase, so are the number of products which are specifically
designed to meet their unique needs.

This new breed of hardware and software computer products are called mobile
companion products. Designed to make mobile computing easier and more
convenient, they are typically small, lightweight, and battery-powered or
low-power-consumption devices. Mobile companion products include products
such as portable printers and scanners, modems, PCMCIA cards, and remote
access software.

Pricing and Availability

The Datasonix Pereos is offered at a suggested retail price of $595. With
the purchase of each unit, Datasonix is offering a limited time
