Quantum Leap Version 2.1 Utilizes Symmetric Multi-Processing, Provides
Application Generation Capability

Wilmington, Delaware, June 21, 1994 -- Quantum Development Corporation
today released Quantum Leap for OS/2 Version 2.1, a new, advanced version
of its Quantum Leap for OS/2 business problem solving software. The
product capitalizes on the new symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) version of
OS/2, providing corporations with the ability to "scale up" to SMP
machines as their business problems become more complex or require
timelier answers. The new version also provides Application Programmer
Interfaces (APIs), which allow consultants, corporate developers and value
added resellers (VARs) to embed Quantum Leap models and problem solving
technology in solutions created for their users.

Quantum Leap makes it easy for users to create and maintain complex
business models, representing the dynamics of a real-life business
environment. The problem representation is accomplished using an enhanced
graphical user interface. Once a problem is represented, the user can
quickly obtain the best answers with the click of a button, using Quantum
Leap's problem solving engine.

Several new solution techniques and support for multi-processing have been
added to Quantum Leap's problem solving technology. In addition, the
client/server architecture has been extended to support the symmetric
multi-processing version of OS/2, and a distributed option which can take
advantage of an heterogeneous network of personal computers and RISC
System/6000 workstations.

To meet the needs of consultants, corporate developers and value added
resellers, Quantum has also released a developer's application programming
interface capability which is packaged with training and consulting
services as a new offering called Quantum Craft. Quantum Craft allows
Quantum Leap models and the problem solving technology to be embedded in
other applications or delivered with a customized user interface

Quantum Leap is used for asset management, budgeting, cash flow planning,
project management, portfolio management, resource allocation and
scheduling. It is applicable to a variety of industries including banking,
insurance, securities, manufacturing, transportation and distribution.
