RasterOps ClearVueColor 17 monitor at a MSRP of $999.

with the RasterOps ClearVueColor 17 monitor at a MSRP of $1299.

"Our graphics accelerators and monitors for the PC set a new definition of
value and quality in true-color solutions," said Mick O'Rourke, vice
president of marketing at RasterOps. "These bundles represent our
commitment to bringing low-cost, high-performance products to satisfy the
needs of all PC users."

ColorImpact Features:

The Truevision ColorImpact 100 is ideal for the cost-conscious Windows
user, and the ColorImpact Pro 1000 is targeted at the needs of color
graphics professionals using such applications as CAD, desktop publishing,
and multimedia design software. Both cards use 64-bit graphics chips from
Cirrus Logic and Weitek, respectively, and provide 16.7 million colors
(24-bit) support. In addition, the ColorImpact 100 products are available
in ISA, VLB, or PCI bus configurations, and the ColorImpact Pro 1000 is
available in both VLB and PCI versions. Memory is easily upgradable via
industry-standard DRAM SIMMS for the ColorImpact 100 and VRAM DIMMs for
the ColorImpact Pro 1000. These graphics accelerators offer unprecedented
ease of installation with an auto-install capability, and comply with the
Energy Star and VESA DPMS guidelines for power conservation. Both the
ColorImpact cards are covered by a limited LIFETIME warranty.

The ColorImpact 100 comes standard with 1MB of DRAM and supports a maximum
of 16.7 million colors at 640-by-480 resolution. With 2MB of DRAM, this
graphics card supports 16.7 million colors at resolution up to 800 by 600,
and a maximum resolution of 1024 by 768 in 256 and 65,000 colors. The
ColorImpact Pro 1000 comes standard with 2MB of RAM, which is expandable
to 4MB. This card is capable of displaying a maximum resolution of 65,000
colors at 1600-by-1200 resolution, with a maximum 24-bit capability (16.7
million colors) at a resolution of 1024 by 768 with full acceleration.

As a stand-alone product, the ColorImpact 100 has a suggested retail price
of $139 (with 1MB of RAM) and $219 (with 2MB of RAM). The ColorImpact Pro
1000 lists for $389 (2MB of RAM) and $569 (4MB of RAM).

ClearVueColor 17 Features:

The ClearVueColor 17 flat-screen monitor incorporates a 17-inch Invar
shadow-mask tube supporting resolutions of up to 1024 by 768. The Invar
shadow mask guarantees minimal color shifting due to thermal expansion
(compared to other commonly used alloys), and the .26mm dot pitch provides
exceptionally sharp and clear text, graphics, and images. There are 14
preset resolutions and eight user-defined video modes. Like the
ColorImpact graphics accelerators, the ClearVueColor 17 is Energy Star
compliant. It also adheres to the stringent Swedish MPR II standard for
VLF/ELF emissions. The ClearVueColor 17 lists for $1,049 as a stand-alone
product.

Availability and Support:

The bundles will be available worldwide via major distributors, national
resellers, and mass merchandisers at the end of July, 1994. In addition,
the ColorImpact cards and ClearVueColor monitor are supported by
RasterOps' SureThing service program in the U.S. and Canada, which
includes the next-day shipment of a replacement unit during the first year
of ownership. Additional product information is available by calling 1-800
