REVELATION TECHNOLOGIES BETA READIES OPENINSIGHT FOR LOTUS NOTES'; TRUE
WINDOWS GUI OFFERS INTERACTIVE, ITERATIVE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT TO NOTES
USERS

PC EXPO, NEW YORK, JUNE 28, 1994 -- Revelation Technologies today announced
that it is shipping its beta version of OpenInsight for Lotus Notes in
July. OpenInsight for Lotus Notes enhances the capabilities of the Notes
developer by providing a true Windows application development environment
that presents data in a familiar, graphical environment. This
Notes-enabled, repository-based, client/server development environment
creates industrial strength, multi-user, transaction processing
applications that are deployable from stand-alone runtime installations
through workgroup and client/server systems.

OpenInsight for Lotus Notes includes flexible, event-driven programming
tools to automate much of the work associated with developing
applications. A unique repository coordinates team development, provides
for impact analysis, application reusability and inheritance, and
integrates third party tools and executables. A comprehensive Windows
report writer allows both developers and end users to design reports and
access data without programming. Advanced transaction processing assures
record security. OpenInsight's native data access technology allow Notes
users access to back ends such as SQL Server, Sybase and ODBC, with ORACLE
to come at a later date. OpenInsight for Lotus Notes supports Notes Field
Exchange (Notes/FX) and Object Linking & Embedding (OLE). It has the
ability to embed OpenInsight commands in a Notes database and allows for
bi-directional communication at the field level.

Notes users realize immediate benefits with OpenInsight for Lotus Notes,
such as the ability to quickly and easily incorporate information from
OpenInsight and other production systems into their environments.

"In addition to accessing production data, OpenInsight gives Lotus Notes
the added dimension of iterative application development for heightened
efficiency and quality," said James Acquaviva, President and CEO,
Revelation Technologies. "Application inheritance, wherein components
distilled from a parent application are instantly updated throughout the
system once a change is made to that parent component, is a significant
'value-add.'" He continued, "The entire application development life cycle
-- from design to development to deployment and through maintenance -- is
streamlined by the repository."

In addition, OpenInsight for Lotus Notes' proactive, object-oriented
repository also allows developers to work simultaneously on Notes
databases, coordinating their efforts so application components can be
shared, immediately updated and reused. OpenInsight's repository forecasts
the impact of application changes, signals users of impending consequences
and allows enhanced maintenance of Notes databases.

The beta testing phase will help fine tune the integration between the two
product lines. The beta version includes non-procedural access between
Notes and OpenInsight, procedural access to VIM (Vendor Independent
Messaging) mail and delivery of robust, professional development tools for
building OpenInsight for Lotus Notes production applications.
Mail-enabling tools, based on the VIM API (Application Programming
Interface) are forthcoming.

"The integration of products like OpenInsight and Notes brings tremendous
data stores and the continued production of open systems together with
document- or data-centric application classes," said Jeffrey Papows, Vice
President, Notes Product Division, Lotus Development Corp. "Partnerships
of the type and substance that we have with Revelation Technologies are of
great value."

OpenInsight, the repository-based application development environment for
Microsoft Windows, is extensively used for multi-user LAN and
client/server line-of-business production applications requiring robust
on-line transaction processing capabilities. OpenInsight is the only
database development tool capable of working intelligently with both
unstructured and structured (SQL) data, and easily integrates with the
Notes unstructured data format. OpenInsight-based systems range from
accounting, inventory management and order processing to legal, health and
human resources management.

Lotus Notes is a unique, secure, client/server implementation of an open
distributed document database with an integral messaging transport and
environment for developing and deploying knowledge-sharing applications in
ways never before possible Since its introduction, nearly 3,200 companies
and more than 750,000 people are using Notes to improve business
processes, including customer service, sales and account management, and
product development.

OpenInsight includes a full suite of non-procedural rapid application
development tools, an event-driven application development and database
management language; an integrated proactive repository; a unique,
flexible multi-value, variable length database engine and connectivity to
popular database servers.

Revelation Technologies, founded in 1987, is a leading developer of
