Saber Software Corporation Announces New Release of Saber LAN Workstation
with Remote Control

Version 5.0 offers more advanced management and time-saving features

(May 4, 1994) Dallas, Texas--Saber Software Corporation, one of the leading
developers of integrated network management software, today announced the
upcoming release of version 5.0 of its award-winning utilities, Saber LAN
Workstation.

The ability to remotely control workstations is the biggest addition to the
new release. A significant, productivity-enhancing benefit to LAN
administrators, Saber is using technology licensed from Florida-based
utility maker, Ocean Isle Software, makers of ReachOut. In the technology
agreement, Ocean Isle is also authorized to sell Saber LAN Workstation to
any of its customers interested in a complete network management
solution.

Jim Kendall, president of Ocean Isle, said, "The inclusion of our remote
control software benefits both companies. For Saber, it means reducing to
an even greater degree the time spent supporting the network. For us, it's
a way to talk to a much larger networking audience, all of whom are
concerned about easy-to-use, sophisticated utilities. We're very excited
about the possibilities."

Saber's new version is fully compatible with Novell's NetWare Directory
Services (NDS), enabling customers to easily migrate to NetWare 4.x. By
incorporating NDS support, Saber LAN Workstation helps leverage a
company's investment in their operating system, both now and in the
future, as it eliminates the need to purchase new utilities.

In addition to remote control and NDS support, other new features of
version 5.0 include:

* Improved alarm notification via pager of MHS, MAPI or
  VIM E-mail systems
* Improved disk monitor with built-in alarm notification
* New quick-launching options for commonly-used network utilities
* New text editor for Windows

Saber LAN Workstation version 5.0 is expected to ship on May 31 st.
Suggested retail pricing is $199 for media and documentation; $49 for each
additional node license. For current Saber customers, upgrade pricing is
available. As with previous releases, Saber LAN Workstation is compatible
with the following operating systems: Novell NetWare, Banyan Vines,
Microsoft LAN Manager, IBM LAN Server, DEC PathWORKS, Artisoft LANtastic
and any MS-Net-based network.

Said Jeff Farris, Saber's president and CEO, "All the recent merger and
acquisition activity in the network software market has left many network
managers confused. It also leaves them feeling vulnerable about product
viability."

Continued Farris, "That's why we're so excited about Saber LAN Workstation
5.0. This product expands on our already thorough understanding of the LAN
administrator's concerns. And, it's designed using a stable, proven
platform--one that's guaranteed to be around tomorrow."

Saber LAN Workstation provides both time-saving and cost-saving tools to
make networks easier to use and manage. In addition to the new features,
version 5.0 incorporates all the functionality found in Saber Menu System
for DOS and Saber Menu System for Windows. The new version number reflects
this product consolidation. The product also carries over a complete set
of integrated tools to perform the following important tasks: file and
software distribution, application metering, hardware/software
inventorying, DOS and Windows menuing, workstation security and end-user
printer management.

Saber LAN Workstation is available through distribution, and a world-wide
network of resellers, corporate resellers and selected retail chains.
