Saber Software Corporation Ships New Version of NLM Product for
Enterprise-Wide Metering/License Management

Version 1.1 of SEAM provides client/server-based license management without
Windows TSR requirement

(June 23, l 994) Dallas, Texas--Saber Software Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR),
one of the leading developers of network management software, today
announced that it is shipping version 1.1 of Saber Enterprise Application
Manager (SEAM), the company's NetWare Loadable Module (NLM) metering
product.

An add-on to Saber's integrated network utilities package, Saber LAN
Workstation, SEAM provides enterprise-wide license management and offers
LAN administrators an effective way to reduce software application costs.
For NetWare users running either DOS or Windows applications, SEAM also
allows real-time license sharing across multiple servers. Unlike other NLM
metering products on the market, SEAM is not single server-specific. To
improve worker productivity, SEAM lets a user "borrow" a license from
another server, should all authorized copies be in use on that user's
primary server. Should all copies be in use throughout the enterprise,
SEAM will queue a user's request, then notify that user once a license
becomes available. These features also let an organization save money by
purchasing only those licenses that are truly needed, then efficiently
locate them throughout the enterprise.

New features in version 1.1 of SEAM include the ability to meter all DOS or
Windows applications running under Windows, no matter where they reside,
without any terminate-and-stay-resident (TSR) requirements. For DOS
clients, there is an optional 24 KB TSR. The new version is also fully
compatible with Novell's NetWare Directory Services (NDS). An add-on to
Saber LAN Workstation, SEAM 1.1 can also determine which version of Saber
LAN Workstation (version 2.0 or version 5.0) a network is currently
running and configure itself appropriately during installation, without
intervention by the LAN manager.

As companies strive to control the cost of networking, SEAM provides an
easily-accessed method for tracking and monitoring software assets. LAN
administrators have at their fingertips a complete audit log of all
application usage and can generate reports and/or charts necessary to make
informed decisions and justify expenditures. The information generated by
SEAM is also accepted by the Software Publishers Association (SPA) as
proof of license compliance, should the company be subject to a software
audit.

For organizations concerned with security, SEAM provides that extra measure
of license control. For example, it provides multiple security levels,
from a completely secure mode to "audit only." SEAM can also log a user
off of the network if he or she has accessed the LAN without being subject
to SEAM metering. And, SEAM can meter applications no matter where they
reside, including a user's local hard drive. This can be especially
important for companies that have portable computer users. When a remote
user connects back into the network, SEAM can detect unauthorized
applications and prevent access to the software.

SEAM is compatible with Novell NetWare 3.x or 4.x and requires that Saber
LAN Workstation version 2.0 or higher be loaded on the network. The
product uses a Layered Client Server Architecture (LCSA), developed by
Saber. This architecture enables the company to write LAN utilities, such
as SEAM, on other server-hosted environments and provide cross-platform,
client/server development. It also allows future versions to be DMI
(Desktop Management Interface) and LSAPI (License Service Application
Programming Interface) compliant. SEAM is available through distribution,
and a world-wide network of resellers, corporate resellers and selected
retail chains. The suggested retail price for SEAM is $695 per server,
with volume server pricing available.

Saber Software Corporation is a publicly-traded company, headquartered in
