Samsung Ships 24 Pin Color Capable Dot Matrix Printer
New Color Impact Printer is Quiet and Affordable

June 1994 -- Ridgefield Park, NJ -- Samsung Electronics America has started
shipping its full-featured, color capable 24-Pin Quiet Dot-Matrix Printer,
the SP-2417.

Ben Y. Cho, Product Manager for Dot-Matrix Printers, said, "Our powerful

graphics in presentations, proposals, reports, or projects. The unit is
easy to use, can handle heavy work loads, sells for a price everybody can

The SP-2417 is a high performance 360 x 360 DPI dot matrix printer that
provides high quality black and white and color printouts for business and
office applications. Paper handling features include paper parking, paper
feed, push tractor, auto paper loading, friction feed and micro adjustment
reverse line feed. It also offers top, rear and front paper feed.

Fonts resident in the SP-2417 include draft, letter quality Courier, Letter
Gothic, Roman, Sans Serif, Prestige-Elite and Script. The printer can also
produce condensed, emphasized, double width, double height, double strike,
italic, underline and sub/superscript formats. In the draft mode the
SP-2417 can print at speeds up to 192 CPS and in the LQ mode it can print
up to 63 CPS.

The color-capable printer has seven colors, including black, a low noise
level of 46 dBA and an optional RS232C serial port. MSRP is $299 and the
color upgrade kit carries an MSRP of $79. Additional options include
serial interface, buffer RAM and legal-size paper tray.
