MITSUBISHI INTERNATIONAL LAUNCHES SERVICE BUREAU CAMPAIGN FOR THE SHINKO
COLORSTREAM/DS PLUS DYE SUB COLOR PRINTER

Three Month Promotion Aimed At Advertising and Graphic Design Community

White Plains, NY--June 1, 1994--Shinko Electric of Japan, through its U.S.
marketing partner, Mitsubishi International Corporation (MIC), worldwide
distributor of Shinko color printers, has launched a three-month campaign
to promote the Shinko ColorStream Dye Sublimation line of color printers
to the advertising and graphic design communities. The promotion, which
will run from June to September, will take place at two New York City
service bureau sites, Digital Exchange and Katz Graphics, in Manhattan.
Both sites will have a new ColorStream/DS Plus, Shinko's B-size, full
bleed 11" x 17" 300 DPI, dye sublimation color printer for use during the
campaign.

The promotion, which will be introduced with a Direct Mail campaign, is
designed to educate the pre-press and advertising communities to the
benefits of using dye-sublimation as a proofing tool. Citing the
excellent, photographic-quality results to be obtained, as well as a cost
saving of $10 per print from either of the participating service bureaus,
the Direct Mail piece is being sent to art directors and designers in the
New York City area. An accompanying ad, scheduled to appear in Publish!
and Windows Sources will support the message of the Direct Mail campaign,
that dye sublimation can provide this audience with an indispensable tool
in producing astonishing crisp, vivid and true color output for proofing
and presentations.

The ColorStream/DS Plus, or CHC-S746i, is part of Shinko's i-printer series
of "intelligent" color printers. This innovative B-size printer ships
standard with 54 MB of memory and is the only B-size dye sublimation
printer on the market to provide builtin PostScript Level 2 capability
through its proprietary ROM card technology, as well as fast raster
printing with a Photoshop plug-in driver and Zenographics SuperPrint for
Windows.

The ColorStream/DS, priced at $15,500, is also supported by FotoTune,
Agfa's color management system, for complete, high-end color management.
Agfa's FotoTune software is compatible with Photoshop and QuarkXPress,
providing high-end color editing capabilities to those in the demanding
pre-press, graphic design, advertising and photographic communities. And,
Agfa's FotoTune supports Apple's ColorSync color management software,
making the ColorStream/DS Plus a fully-compatible color management
printer.

The Shinko CHC-S746i also supports all four standard interfaces--AppleTalk,
Centronics, RS-232 and SCSI--and has Ethertalk and an expandable memory
capacity of up to 134 MB. These features, along with several others, make
the ColorStream/DS Plus virtually the most flexible, easiest B-size dye
sublimation printer on the market.

Shinko Electric's full line of dye sublimation and thermal transfer color
printers are marketed worldwide through Mitsubishi International
Corporation's Computer Graphics Division, headquartered in White Plains,
NY. In addition to the Shinko line of printers, MIC also markets a full
range of computer graphics peripherals including color scanners and a wide
variety of software.
