MITSUBISHI INTERNATIONAL INTRODUCES TWO NEW SHINKO DYE SUBLIMATION COLOR
PRINTERS

Shinko Raster Dye Sub Printers Designed For Faster, Photorealistic Output
of Bitmapped Images

White Plains, NY--June 28, 1994--Shinko Electric of Japan, through its U.S.
marketing partner, Mitsubishi International Corporation (MIC), worldwide
distributor of Shinko color printers, has introduced two new dye
sublimation printers. The Shinko CHC-S445-5 and CHC-S745-5, which began
shipping in April, are an exciting addition to Mitsubishi International's
extensive line of advanced color printers from Shinko Electric.

The Shinko CHC-S445-5 and CHC-S745-5 printers both feature enhanced color
and image quality controls, including color correction, under color
removal, edge emphasis and smoothing functions, offering unsurpassed
flexibility for fine-tuning exact color output. Both raster dye sub
printers are supported by Agfa's FotoTune color management system
(shipping with ColorTags developed for the Shinko ColorStream series of
printers). Agfa's FotoTune is a complete color management system designed
for high-end color management.

The CHC-S445-5, supports up to a full bleed 8.5" x 11" image area and a
full 11" x 17" printed image can be produced on the CHC-S745-5. An image
enlargement feature also allows smaller files to be printed up to 9.9
times larger than original size. Both printers automatically scan and
activate the built-in Centronics and high-speed SCSI interfaces and have
an installed 100MB hard disk to serve as page memory. The S445-5 and
S745-5 are priced at $8,999 and $17,500, respectively. An Adobe PhotoShop
plug-in driver for the Mac is an available option for $150.

Shinko Electric's full line of dye sublimation and thermal transfer color
printers are marketed worldwide through Mitsubishi International
Corporation's Computer Graphics Division, headquartered in White Plains,
NY. In addition to the Shinko line of printers, MIC also markets a full
range of computer graphics peripherals including color scanners and a wide
variety of software.
