WYSE TECHNOLOGY AND IBM'S PERSONAL SOFTWARE PRODUCTS DIVISION JOIN FORCES
TO PROVIDE CLIENT/SERVER SOLUTIONS

Wyse to Pre-Install OS/2 for SMP and Other IBM Products

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 28, 1994 -- Wyse Technology Inc. announced today
that it has signed a strategic relationship with IBM's Personal Software
Products Division and will pre-install a variety of IBM operating systems
and applications, including OS/2 for Symmetrical Multiprocessing (OS/2 for
SMP), on Wyse's line of client and server systems.

The two companies will target client/server solutions for vertical markets
including banking, insurance and manufacturing. In addition, corporate
environments with an installed base of OS/2 will be able to migrate easily
to OS/2 for SMP with Wyse's symmetric multiprocessor servers.

Under the terms of the new OEM agreement, Wyse will pre-install IBM
products such as OS/2 for SMP, Advanced Server for Workgroups and LAN
Server, on specific optimized models of its symmetric multiprocessor and
uniprocessor servers. The agreement will also allow Wyse the opportunity
to bundle OS/2 and other software such Lotus SmartSuite for OS/2 on its
line of systems.

"With the introduction of OS/2 for SMP and our new OEM relationship, Wyse
teams up with IBM to provide the cost and performance advantages of x86
symmetric multiprocessing to the large and growing installed base of OS/2
users," said Jeff McNaught, director of marketing and management for
Wyse's Systems Division.

"We're pleased that Wyse has selected OS/2 for SMP as an operating system
for its multiprocessing servers," said John Soyring, director of strategic
relations for IBM's Personal Software Products Division. "Users will see
dramatic performance gains with compute-intensive applications running on
OS/2 for SMP."

Benefits of SMP

The combination of OS/2 for SMP on Wyse's symmetric multiprocessor servers
is ideal for compute-intensive applications such as database, transaction
processing and especially workgroup applications. Multithreaded
applications are broken down to smaller tasks which are handled by
multiple CPUs, therefore improving overall performance. Applications
written for OS/2 can run without modification on OS/2 for SMP and will
realize performance enhancements. In addition, because OS/2 for SMP is
based on OS/2, multiple DOS, Windows, and OS/2 applications can run
concurrently on a single system.

In tests of beta OS/2 for SMP running on a five-processor Series 7000i
Model 760MP, Jim Norman, contributing editor for the industry newsletter,
Andrew Seybold's Outlook, described, "This machine represents some of the
best engineering in the industry. It has been very carefully designed to
be an industrial-strength mu1tiprocessing machine. The remote technical
support capabilities of the system and the responsiveness of the technical
support personnel was superb. Ease of installation and integration into a
networked system was obviously a key goal which Wyse demonstrated
admirably in their Series 7000i."

Bob Orf, executive vice president, OKRA Marketing Corp., a database systems
integrator in Tampa, Florida, said, "We've been impressed with the
performance of the Series 7000i. There is virtually no overhead with
additional CPUs which provides fully scalable performance benefits. Our
marketing database application is very CPU intensive and the combination
of OS/2 for SMP on the Series 7000i ran it very well. Our customers will
definitely benefit from the throughput gains with Wyse's SMP technology.
We plan to upgrade our existing customers to Wyse's SMP servers, both as a
database server, as well as a stand-alone platform for the power user."

Wyse's symmetric multiprocessing chip sets are also certified for OS/2,
allowing original equipment manufacturers and system integrators to
quickly bring SMP systems to market. The Flash/MP chip set is based on
Wyse's third generation SMP technology, a proven, established platform.

Significant Discounts for Software Developers

Wyse is offering significant discounts, up to 59 percent off street prices,
on its client and server systems to qualified corporate developers,
independent software vendors and VARs that are porting applications for
the OS/2 for SMP environment. Systems under the OS/2 Developer's Special
Program can be purchased by ISVs from either authorized distributors or
Wyse. Systems pre-installed with IBM software will be available within 30
days.

Wyse's line of systems includes upgradable PCs, such as the new Forte GSV
personal computer which can be chip upgraded from an i486 processor to a
true, 64-bit Pentium processor. The company's server line features the
flagship, five-processor Series 7000i Model 760MP symmetric multiprocessor
server, used in the development of OS/2 for SMP. For more information on
