New Version of Quantum Leap Optimizes Power of OS/2 for SMP

Faster, More Cost-Effective Software Solution to Solve Business Problems

New York City, June 28, 1994 -- Today at the IBM press briefing at PC Expo,
Quantum Development Corporation is demonstrating its recently introduced
multiprocessing version of Quantum Leap for OS/2 Version 2.1 running on a
Wyse Series 7000I, Model 760, multiprocessor computer equipped with OS/2
for Symmetrical Multiprocessing.

Quantum Leap is a business problem-solving software which helps
corporations solve complex problems in such areas as portfolio management,
budgeting and resource allocation. It capitalizes on OS/2 for SMP's
scalable performance for Intel-based multiprocessor PCs, thus providing
corporations with the ability to move from desktops to multiprocessor
machines as their business problems become more complex or require
timelier answers.

"OS/2 for SMP provides an ideal platform for Quantum Leap by leveraging the
power of multiprocessing hardware to allow users to solve their problems
quickly," said John Soyring, Director of Strategic Relations for IBM's
Personal Software Products Division, "Customers are certain to appreciate
the enhanced performance of this problem-solving tool on OS/2 for SMP."

Quantum Leap for OS/2 version 2.1 features several new solution techniques
and support for multiprocessing. In addition, the client/server
architecture has been extended to support OS/2 for SMP, and a distributed
option that can take advantage of a heterogeneous network of PCs and RISC
System/6000 workstations.

Quantum Leap makes it easy for users to create and maintain complex
business models, representing the dynamics of a real-life business
environment. The problem representation is accomplished using an enhanced
graphical user interface. Once a problem is represented, the user can
quickly obtain the best answers with the click of a button, using Quantum
Leap's problem solving engine.

To meet the needs of consultants. corporate developers, and value added
resellers (VARs), Quantum has also released a developer's application
programming interface capability, which is packaged with training and
consulting services as a new offering called Quantum Craft. Quantum Craft
allows Quantum Leap models and the problem solving technology to be
embedded in other applications or delivered with a customized user
interface.

Quantum Leap is used for asset management, budgeting, cash flow planning,
project management, portfolio management, resource allocation. and
scheduling. It is applicable to a variety of industries including banking,
insurance, securities, manufacturing, transportation and distribution.
