TOSHIBA EXHIBITS THREE NEW NOTEBOOK COMPUTERS AT PC EXPO '94

Enhances Satellite Value Line and Portege Ultra Portables

NEW YORK -- June 28, 1994 -- Booth #2660 -- The Computer Systems Division
of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. (TAIS) will display for the
first time, three new notebook computers targeted to the small office/home
office users and traveling professionals. Adding two new models to the
Satellite line, Toshiba has introduced the T2400C Series which features
the ultimate value in performance and expandability; the T1960C offering
i486DX2 performance; and the Portege T3600CT ultra-portable with a faster
CPU, larger color TFT display and 250MB hard disk drive.

Satellite T2400C Series Key Features

The Satellite T2400C is a multimedia-capable Satellite notebook computer
targeted to today' s new generation of power users who require advanced
performance and color displays at the best price. These models feature
Toshiba' s first implementation of the redesigned keyboard with the
AccuPoint pointing device in a standard notebook form factor, an optional
sound card with Sound Blaster Pro software compatibility and a SCSI-2 port
for easy CD-ROM connection. In addition, two separate PCMCIA expansion
slots and an optional port replicator are provided for easy one-touch
connectivity to office peripherals.

Based on the 50MHz i486DX2 CPU, the Satellite T2400C Series is available
with a 250MB or 320MB (T2400CT model only) hard disk drive and extensive
memory capability. Customers are offered a choice of two vibrant color
displays -- a bright 9.5-inch Dynamic-STN dual-scan color LCD (T2400CS) or
a vivid 8.4-inch color TFT-LCD active matrix -- that come standard with a
graphics accelerator and local-bus video performance. For presentations to
groups, simultaneous display and SVGA video-out features are included.

The Satellite T2400C Series comes pre-installed with Windows for Workgroups
3.11, MS-DOS 6.21, Adaptec EZ-SCSI for Toshiba and Toshiba utilities.
Expected to ship in July, the estimated street range pricing for the
T2400CS/250 is $3,099 to $3,299; $3,899 to $4,099 for the T2400CT/250; and
$4,099 to $4,299 for the T2400CT/320. Pricing is dependent upon
configuration and bundle purchased and services provided by the reseller.

Satellite T1960C Series Key Features

Targeted to the consumer, small business and corporate markets, the
Satellite T1960C Series provides the performance features for those value
conscious purchasers not requiring docking station capability but wanting
quality, reliability and durability for their computing needs. The basic
system includes a 50MHz i486DX2 CPU with 8K internal cache, a 200MB hard
disk with an optional 320MB hard disk drive for the T1960CT, 4MB of RAM
expandable up to 20MB, and a choice of a 8.4-inch color TFT-LCD active
matrix display or a 9.5-inch dynamic dual-scan color screen.

Furthermore, the Satellite T1960C Series contains a PCMCIA slot designed to
hold Type I, II, and III industry-standard cards, as well as larger 14.5mm
Toshiba cards. An 82-key keyboard, the BallPoint mouse 2.0 with QuickPort,
standard ports and a front-loading 3.5-inch 1.44MB floppy disk drive round
out the T1960C Series systems' features.

Currently shipping, the Satellite T1960C Series comes pre-installed with
Windows 3.1, MS-DOS 6.21 and Toshiba Utilities. The estimated street
prices are $2,449 to $2,699 for the T1960CS/200; the T1960CT/200 range is
$3,149 to $3,399; and the T1960CT/320 is $3,449 to $3,699. The street
price ranges are dependent upon configuration and bundle purchased and
services provided by the reseller.

Portege T3600CT Key Features

The new Portege T3600CT combines the functionality of an i486 desktop
computer, superior performance and uncompromised usability for business
executives and professionals who desire a high-performance primary
computer in the 4.4-pound ultra-portable form factor. Offering 50 percent
more computing power than its predecessor, the Portege T3600CT comes
standard with a 50MHz i486DX2 CPU and a VL-bus and hardware graphics
accelerator ideal for performance-intensive applications. Other enhanced
features include a higher capacity 250MB hard disk drive, 8MB RAM standard
(expandable to 24MB) and a brilliant 8.4-inch color TFT active matrix
display which supports 256 Super VGA simultaneous colors at a resolution
of 640 x 480.

The Portege T3600CT continues to offer a variety of features found in the
earlier T3400 models. Most notable is the integration of Lithium-Ion
battery technology in which users can achieve up to 6 hours of battery
life when combined with the MaxTime Power Management System and 3.3-volt
CPU technology. In addition, the newly-designed keyboard exemplifies the
customer's preference of the AccuPoint integrated pointing device and a
wrist-rest area for easier typing.

The Toshiba Portege T3600CT comes pre-installed with Windows for Workgroups
3.11, MS-DOS 6.21 and CommWorks for Windows. Shipping in early July, the
Portege T3600CT comes with a suggested retail price of $4,799.
