Lotus Notes Express Now Offered with Power Macintosh Computers

Power Macintosh Advantages Combined with the Notes Groupware Standard

NEW YORK, New York--June 19, 1995-- As part of an ongoing co- marketing and
development effort between the two companies, Apple Computer, Inc. and
Lotus Development Corp. today jointly announced that customers purchasing
Power Macintosh computers as of today are entitled to receive, at no
additional cost, Notes Express Release 3.31 for Mac OS. In addition to the
standard Notes Express client, the offer includes two additional Notes
Express applications and four Macintosh-specific Notes reference
databases. The four reference databases have been developed especially for
this offer. The Lotus Notes Business Partners catalog is also included.

Power Macintosh purchases as of June 19, 1995, contain a coupon redeemable
for a CD-ROM disk containing the Notes Express software, online
documentation, and additional software listed above. The offer is valid in
the United States only.

The Power Macintosh/Notes Express offer presents a powerful, easy- to-use
solution that is immediately useful to business workers who need to
communicate and collaborate on a variety of critical business information
even if they are only occasionally connected to a network. The version of
Notes Express for Mac OS offered with the Power Macintosh combines
client/server electronic mail with six of the most popular Notes
applications in a ready-to-use package that enhances enterprise-wide
collaboration between all Notes users on Macintosh, Microsoft Windows, IBM
OS/2 and UNIX desktops.

"The success of the Power Macintosh, with more than 1.4 million units sold
to date, proves the attractiveness of the RISC-based Mac platform to a
broad range of customers," said Dan Eilers, Apple senior vice president
for worldwide marketing and customer solutions. "By offering Notes Express
with our Power Macintosh line of products, we are presenting our customers
with a strong solution for advancing their communication and collaboration
efforts. We are also providing them with a powerful cross- platform
solution to better integrate Power Macintosh with the other major desktop
and network environments in use today at both large and small
organizations."

"The Power Macintosh has proven to be a serious player in enterprise
computing and complements Notes as an inter-enterprise groupware
platform," said Jeff Papows, vice president of the Lotus Communications
Business Group. Notes Express provides Power Macintosh customers with a
richer set of services for communication and collaboration than simple
LANs or e-mail by leveraging the benefits of Notes backend services,
including unique database replication technology, robust security and
mobile user support."

Unique Applications and Databases for Macintosh

The Power Macintosh/Notes Express offer combines four of the most popular
Notes groupware applications for new users plus two additional

customers.

The Notes Applications Include:

technical notes, policy and procedure manuals and more.

News Databases: Store and access the latest news, articles and other
company and industry information; connect directly to newswire services
via Notes.

Along with the two additional applications, customers receive four
Macintosh-specific Notes reference databases, developed exclusively for
this offer, that can be put to use immediately, as well as the Lotus
Business Partners Catalog.

The Notes Reference Databases Are:

AppleFacts is a convenient, one-stop reference for basic technical
information, such as key product specifications, upgrade paths and

professional association dedicated to improving the quality of Macintosh
computer consulting.

The Lotus Business Partners Catalog: A worldwide directory listing the more
than 9,000 Lotus Business Partners available to provide users with
value-add products, application development and customization, systems
integration, and training and support.

Additionally, an interactive, multimedia overview of Notes Express,
developed by Apple and Lotus, is included to provide Power Macintosh users
with an overview of the benefits and uses of Notes.

Notes Express is the entry-level Notes client software in the Notes family
of groupware solutions for Macintosh. In addition to Notes Express, the
Notes product line for the Macintosh includes Notes Desktop, a Notes
run-time client that allows Notes users to run any Notes application to
which they have access rights; and the Lotus Notes client, providing a
proven solution for developing and deploying high-return business process
applications.

The Power Macintosh/Notes Express combination is a total solution that
offers an incremental, high-value way to get started with collaborative
computing or to extend Notes within an organization. It also provides a
