Brother Introduces the Perfect Partner Super PowerNote Personal Electronic
Notebook

The First Truly Affordable Alternative to a PC Notebook

Somerset, NJ, June 20, 1995 -- We have evolved into a mobile society where,
thanks to portable electronic devices, "away from the office," no longer
has to mean "away from work." Those with portable computers can now
literally pack up their business and take it on the road. The problem is,
like their desk-top counterparts, portable computers -- and the software
needed to run them -- can be prohibitively expensive, out of reach, in
fact, for countless numbers of students, salespeople, small office and
home office entrepreneurs: just the people who could benefit from them
most.

Now Brother, the ultimate home office company, has remedied the situation
with the first truly affordable alternative to a PC notebook: the Super
PowerNote, Personal Electronic Notebook. It's the perfect PC partner for
anyone who wants portable word and data processing and communications
capabilities. It weighs in at just 5 lbs. and looks like a notebook
computer. Super PowerNote comes with a full complement of built-in
software, including full function word processing, spreadsheet,
addressbook, scheduler even communications to access CompuServe or
Internet E-mail. It works in tandem with a PC or as a stand-alone notebook
that's so easy to use, it's the ideal partner for the PC user. And it is
expected to sell for less than $300.

With the Super PowerNote, professionals can polish that proposal or crunch
those numbers, students can take notes or do their homework, PC owners can
take their files with them, and on-line users can access CompuServe with
the optional data modem. For those who do not know how to use a PC, relax,
with Super PowerNote anyone can do word processing or spreadsheets. If you
can type, you can use Super PowerNote.

Super PowerNote can be connected to virtually any type of printer (laser,
ink jet, dot matrix, etc.). A standard 3.5" 1.44MB disk drive provides
unlimited data storage and with its PC/WP conversion software, you are
able to exchange files with major PC/WP software packages. In addition,
ASCII and LOTUS 1-2-3 WK1 spreadsheet files can easily be transferred to
and from PCs. Super PowerNote has a large 22 line by 80 character LCD
display, which can operate up to eight hours using the optional NiCd
battery.

Hook it up to virtually any Hayes compatible modem (up to 9600 baud) and
Super PowerNote can access CompuServe or Internet E-mail. (An optional
2400 baud data modem is available and includes a 30 day free trial
subscription to CompuServe plus a $15 usage credit for premium services.)

Pull down menus/icons provide instant access to all PowerNote's features
which include full function word processing with a Thesaurus, "word-spell"
87,000 word Corrector Dictionary, data merge, dual screen capabilities,
double column printing, block move/copy/delete, search & replace,
insert/delete/overwrite functions. It has a built in organizer/scheduler
(with calendar, address book, calculator and more). It has a built-in
spreadsheet with budgeting, telephone book, checkbook balancing, and
additional templates. A business letters software program lets you create
your own professional looking correspondence by customizing one of the 198
built-in preformatted business letters. It even comes with the popular
arcade games, Turnabout and Tetris and includes an AC adaptor.

With Super PowerNote, anyone can pack up their files and take them on the
road, no one has to be left out of the computer age.
