CASTELLE INTRODUCES FULL SUPPORT PRINT SERVER SOLUTIONS

Print Servers to include NDS, Flash Memory, and simultaneous support in
most operating environments

Santa Clara, CA--June 20, 1995--Castelle, a leading supplier of print
servers and self-contained network fax servers, and software solutions,
today announced it is enhancing its print server line to support a wide
variety of protocols and environments, while maintaining the installation
and configuration simplicity of earlier LANpress (external) and JetPress
(internal) print servers.

Castelle' s enhanced LANpress and JetPress EXTRA-MP print servers will
support Netware 4.X with full compliance of Netware Directory Service
(NDS). Novell's NDS is an interrelated part of NetWare Version 4.1 that
began shipping earlier this year.

In order to assure long term compatibility with changing industry
standards, Castelle's new units will include flash memory. These print
servers have been designed to accommodate the continuously changing
technology and can now be upgraded in the field via software updates.

Castelle's new print servers will simultaneously support Windows NT,
AppleTalk (Ethernet only), and Netware 4.1, as well as previously
supported network operating systems: UNIX, NetWare 2.X, and NetWare 3.X.
Protocols supported now include EtherTalk, IPX/SPX, TCP/IP, Telnet, RARP
and TFTP. The first units will begin shipping in Q3/'95.

"Castelle has developed the EXTRA-MP print servers to simultaneously
accommodate the numerous protocols and operating systems found in
companies today," said Eric Chen, print server product manager. "We have
designed products that support the industry standards of today, and that
are flexible and ready to support the standards of tomorrow."

Castelle's LANpress products are compact devices that have connection
capabilities up to four printers--all of which may be operated
simultaneously without loss of throughput--to the multiple networks using
serial and/or parallel ports. The JetPress products are internal print
servers that easily install into the optional MIO/XIO slot on the back of
HewlettPackard printers, including the latest LaserJet 4(M) Plus. High
speed is maintained by using HP's I/O interface, bypassing the parallel
ports.

Castelle, Inc. designs, manufactures, markets and supports dedicated print
and fax server solutions that enhance LAN productivity. Products are
available through national distributors including Ingram Micro, Merisel,
Tech Data, Gates/Arrow, GBC/Vitek, and IE/ATG, Globelle Canada, as well as
a worldwide network of more than 70 other distributors in 37 countries.
Castelle also develops personal fax products. Founded in 1987, Castelle
has its headquarters in Santa Clara, CA. and can be reached at
800-289-7555 or 408-496-0474.
