Prize of 1,000,000 AAdvantage Miles in New 'Mileage Millionaire' Contest

June 5, 1995 -- LOS ANGELES, CA -- With more than 10,000 people already
registered as CyberTravelers on their WWW site, Cathay Pacific Airways-USA
is increasing the incentive to attract new CyberTravelers by offering a
Grand Prize of 1,000.000 AAdvantage Miles in their "Mileage Millionaire"
Contest which begins on June 5, 1995.

Through March 31, 1996, anyone who registers as a CyberTraveler, on Cathay
Pacific's WWW site (http://www.cathay-usa.com), is automatically entered
into Cathay's "Mileage Millionaire" Contest with the winner being
announced on April 15, 1996. People who have already registered as
CyberTravelers need not re-register as they will automatically be entered
into the "Mileage Millionaire" contest.

"We don't believe that any other airline has ever made this type of offer
before. 1,000,000 AAdvantage Miles is equivalent to 40 round-trips within
the Continental U.S.. 33 round-trips to Hawaii. 25 round-trips to Europe,
16 round-trips to Hong Kong or 6 trips around the world," said Mark T.

Already the first airline to offer exclusively tailored promotional offers
and benefits on the Internet, CyberTraveler has generated interest from
consumers and travel agents alike since Cathay Pacific launched the site
on January 20, 1995. For Cathay, it represents an entirely new way of
finding and staying in touch with potential and existing customers as well
as a new distribution channel to spread the carrier's sales message far
beyond its traditional customer base.

"A CyberTraveler gets direct access to discounts and extra mileage bonuses
which are better than those available to the general public. For example,
in February through April of this year, we offered the general public an
AAdvantage promotion of 10,000 AAdvantage miles for a round-trip from
LAXHKG. But a CyberTraveler could receive 15,000 miles for the same trip,"
Weinberger said.

With e-mail addresses for new and existing customers, Cathay Pacific can
reach travelers less expensively, faster, and in a private way that they
prefer. For example, an Internet e-mail message costs virtually nothing
and takes about one to 30 minutes to reach a customer. In comparison,
direct mail costs at least $0.75 and can take from 2 days to 3 weeks.

To sign up as a CyberTraveler, Internet users can visit the Cathay-USA WWW
site (http://www.cathay-usa.com) and register by filling out an electronic
form.

The "Mileage Millionaire" Contest replaces Cathay's original Internet
Faststaff Contest. Information currently available on the Cathay
Pacific-USA home pages includes: contest entry; AAdvantage special mileage
and bonus offers; free award travel information; offers for business and
vacation travelers; and links to other WWW sites relevant to travel to
Asia, e.g., "Tourist Guide to Hong Kong," etc.
