Unite Software Implementation for OpenDoc Technology

New York, NY, June 19, 1995--Cirrus Technology, Inc., an OS/2 imaging and
storage solutions software developer, today announced their support of
Component Integration Laboratories, Inc. (C.I. Labs), the industry
association behind OpenDoc.

"We are committed to implementing the OpenDoc technology for our Unite
software parts", said David Walsh, President of Cirrus Technology.
"OpenDoc is the only object technology which permits cross-platform
interoperability between vendor parts allowing for a total user solution
on the desktop."

Unite Objects provides OS/2 developers and integrators access to SOM
methods for imaging and document management capabilities including image
view, manipulation, object storage, CDROM creation and jukebox management.
The current Unite Objects are used with tools such as IBM's VisualAge and
Watcom's VX-REXX. As objects are surfaced as OpenDoc parts, the developer
will have access to OpenDoc capabilities for OpenDoc solutions.

OpenDoc will allow developers to readily employ standards-based,
multi-media enabled, component software based on true object technology in
the workplace. OpenDoc, an industry standard object-oriented technology
for enterprise solutions, is based on Object Management Group's CORBA
standards.

Cirrus Technology has been in business for ten years, and has concentrated
on OS/2 document imaging technology since late 1989. Current offerings
consist of Workplace Shell enabled, shrink-wrapped end-user products
including UniteLite for desktop imaging and Unite CD Maker for mastering
CD-ROMs.
