HIGHWAY"

NEW PC SERVERS, MULTIMEDIA NOTEBOOKS, DESKTOPS AND INTERNET-READY
ALPHASERVER SYSTEMS HIGHLIGHT NEW YORK DISPLAY

NEW YORK, NY -- June 20, 1995 -- Under the watchful gaze of three classic
American sportscars strategically located around its PC Expo booth #3534,
Digital Equipment Corporation is showing and demonstrating a host of new
systems, software, and services, each designed to ease the path of
individuals and businesses worldwide along the ever changing Information
Highway. Included in the Digital PC booth at this year's event are the
industry's smallest and lightest full-function multimedia notebook
computer, powerful and robust PC servers, an array of leading-edge Pentium
desktop systems, and a host of Alpha and Internet products and services.

Software to be demonstrated in the Digital booth -- for both business and
entertainment -- includes a suite of Internet tools and utilities for
electronic commerce, information distribution, workgroup collaboration,
and improved security. For retailers with an eye on the cutting-edge, an
interactive video kiosk system, now deployed at selected Best Buy stores,
will be on display. Other business software in Digital's booth display
includes a new package designed to ease communications for mobile computer
users, and software designed for the financial services industry that
enables data visualization and analysis.

A just-released multimedia game, based on TriStar Pictures' cyberspace
movie "Johnny Mnemonic", is on display and available for a hands-on test
run.

Look for these brand new products in the Digital PC booth:

o The Digital HiNote Mobile Media Module which, when attached
to Digital's acclaimed HiNote Ultra notebook computer,
brings full multimedia capabilities to mobile PC users in a
        six-pound, two-inch-high package.

o New Digital Prioris PC servers, which ideally suit the
client/server computing needs of a wide range of workgroups
        and organizations.

o High-performance Digital desktop PCs such as the Digital
Celebris XL 5120 and the Digital Celebris XL 5133 that
        incorporate the latest Pentium technology.

o Digital PCs optimized to provide the best performance with
        Microsoft Windows '95.

o Digital Starion PCs loaded with Pentium power and software
for the small office and retail consumers.

o Digital MOBILIZER software for the traveling professional
who requires simple, yet reliable, connectivity between a
mobile PC and an office computer.

o New Internet firewall products and services for improved
        online security.

The Digital booth also features the company's latest laser and color
printers as well as AlphaServer and AlphaStation systems with the power of
64-bit RISC microprocessors.

To complement all the computer assets on display, Digital's Multivendor
Customer Service organization offers a wide range of asset management
services to help companies manage and control their computing costs for
both Digital and non-Digital products. The services cover hardware and
software maintenance and upgrades, support, training, Windows '95
migration programs, and network planning and management. Digital, one of
five companies chosen to provide Windows '95 support for Microsoft
customers, is opening its telephone lines to PC Expo attendees so they can
try the company's Windows '95 support.

To emphasize Digital PC's reliance on its channel partners, an information
booth is supplying printed information matching end user prospects with
resellers in their area. Prospective resellers can also sign up at the
show to become Digital PC Registered Resellers.

Digital's Personal Computer Business Unit offers notebooks,
desktop/deskside systems, and servers through resellers, distributors,
systems integrators, and retail outlets. Digital PC has doubled unit
shipments each of the past three years and was ranked by Dataquest as
number 11 in units shipped worldwide in 1994.

Digital Equipment Corporation is the world's leader in open client/server
solutions from personal computers to integrated worldwide information
systems. Digital's Intel and Alpha platforms, storage, networking,
software and services, together with industry- focused solutions from
business partners, help organizations compete and win in today's global
marketplace.
